WWE has botched performer's in the past, but what the SmackDown creative team has done with Giulia will be a legendary story. Giulia went from being one of the most popular women in wrestling, to an afterthought who seems out of place. All of the blame falls firmly on the shoulders of WWE and the company must make correcting her presentation a priority.
It is wild to think about where Giulia was just a few short years ago. Before joining WWE in 2024, she was perhaps the best women's wrestler on the planet. She held several titles in STARDOM, and while champion she put together some astounding matches that showcased her devestating offense. There's a reason why her Cagematch.net rating sits at 8.64, and her catalog features a pleathora of must-watch content. She was 180 degrees different than the woman fans see on television every Friday. That is the WWE's fault (READ: Road Dogg) and should not be put on the performer in any way.
How can WWE fix Giulia's presentation. There are a few different ways things can go. But the first idea that comes to mind involves one of the most important women on the roster, Asuka. Now, fans often point that WWE doesn't know what to do with minority performers, often throwing them together in a group, but the work Asuka is doing on WWE Monday Night Raw could also rebuild Giulia presentation.
Imagine a scenario where Kairi Sane finally pushes back against Asuka, no longer allowing herself to be bullied by her former mentor. At some point in the feud, Asuka could pull out a trump card that she has a new "mentee" of sorts, Giulia. While this does immediatly put Giulia in a secondary role, it does line her up for big matches against the likes of Sane and potentially IYO SKY. Keeping her on SmackDown with Kianna James does not work, and in the eyes of some it feels like that pairing was put together to get James over rather than Giulia.
There's another conversation point worth having as well. Other free agents may see how WWE has booked Giulia and hesitate to join that company if the opportunitiy comes up. Sareee is a huge name in women's wrestling today and she was a part of the WWE roster for a hot second. One that was terribly managed and she left shortly after. Remember when KUSHIDA was in WWE NXT? Yep, WWE botched him as well. Not only do fans notice, but performers pay attention as well.
Giulia is an uber-talented peformer. WWE needs to take the time to treat her as such. She can become as big of a star as anyone else on the roster if given the chance to do so. That build is there, but there are several changes that must happen along the way.
