WWE SmackDown is going to have a hard time following up an "epic" Raw this week, where the fans witnessed nothing epic whatsoever. That was false advertisement and clickbait to the tee and has only besmirched the trust fans have for the product. WWE will kickstart the build to Royal Rumble 2025, where Rumble matches for both divisions will take place. This week on SmackDown, one match has been officially scheduled: Gunther vs. LA Knight in the "Last Time Is Now" Tournament. Without further ado, here are the official SmackDown Predictions for December 5, 2025.

Gunther vs. LA Knight ["Last Time Is Now Tournament" Finals]

Gunther is the betting favorite to win this tournament and he will remain indomitable in his quest to retire John Cena, as he is back to make a statement since losing the World Title to CM Punk at SummerSlam and become the next Legend Killer in WWE. On the other hand, LA Knight planted some seeds with Cena back in 2023 that he can capitalize on that in the finals against Gunther.

However, after WWE cut off his promo on John Cena on Raw, his victory here is not likely, despite how exciting that option would be. Penta could also get added to this match since he will be back from injury and never got eliminated from the tournament. As for Chris Jericho, rumors have been swirling about him returning to WWE and feuding with LA Knight, so he could be a surprise here too.

Prediction: Gunther

Confirmed Match Card & Segments for 11/21 WWE SmackDown Episode:

  • Gunther vs. LA Knight in the "Last Time is Now" Tournament
  • Penta set to return from injury.
  • Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, and Randy Orton set to appear
  • Tiffany Stratton set to return from hiatus.
