WWE is on the road to Survivor Series, where War Games Matches for both divisions will take place. They also had a stopgap at SNME on November 1, where CM Punk and Jade Cargill became the new world champions. According to Wrestling Observer, Team Punk vs. Team Vision and Team AJ Lee vs. Team Becky Lynch are still planned to take place at that event. There have been rumors swirling around that Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss will be on Team AJ Lee, but it is not a good fit for them, as they have been more focused on defending the tag titles rather than the storyline going on here instead. They already have a big red target on their backs with the titles and do not need to be in this match to advance any stories. In fact, they should lose the tag titles to Kabuki Warriors before this event and fight each other instead on the road to Mania.
Bayley and Lyra Valkyria have a closer association with AJ Lee since they looked up to her as an idol in their wrestling careers, and they have feuded with both Judgment Day and Kabuki Warriors in recent weeks. Also, Bayley was left off both the WrestleMania and SummerSlam cards, so it would be unjustifiable to leave her off the Survivor Series card too. Her character work with Lyra Valkyria on Raw has been eminently compelling and should pay off organically in this War Games Match.
Meanwhile, it would be criminal to leave Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley out, especially when Sky has had a tumultuous history with Kabuki Warriors and Ripley has had a rocky history with Judgment Day. Ripley has a nose injury, but she should be back in time for this match. Sky and Ripley have also been synonymous with War Games since their days in NXT. Iyo Sky is known for putting the trash can on her head and flying from the top of the cage, and Rhea Ripley is undefeated in War Games Matches.
As for the captains of these teams, AJ Lee needs her team to win this match to not only get revenge on Becky Lynch for putting her hands on her husband, CM Punk, but also to warrant a future InterContinental Title opportunity on the road to WrestleMania 42. This is her comeback story, and this War Games Match should end with AJ Lee making Becky Lynch tap out with the Black Widow the same way she did at WrestlePalooza in her return mixed tag match with CM Punk and Seth Rollins.
