WWE WrestleMania 42 is four months away, and the WWE is on the road to the Royal Rumble in January. Survivor Series was reportedly supposed to be a major indicator as to what feuds and matches fans will see at WrestleMania. Many match ups, especially Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns, have been rumored in the past few months, and everyone is now wondering who could be on the Mania card this year. Before the Royal Rumble winners are officially established, the following will provide some early match card predictions for Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 on April 19, 2026.
Wyatt Sicks (c) vs. MFTs vs. Street Profits vs. DIY (w/Candice LeRae) vs. Fraxiom vs. MCMG vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Rey Fenix vs. Trick Melo Gang [WWE Tag Titles]
The main storyline going on right now in the SmackDown tag division is between Wyatt Sicks and MFTs. That will likely continue until WrestleMania, as WWE has a proclivity of dragging storylines long past its expiration date. However, to spice things up, they can add the other tag teams in the division for a clustered tag team gauntlet of sorts that will showcase all the tag teams sufficiently. The best team to take home the gold would be Trick Melo Gang, as Carmelo Hayes is long overdue for a title run and this would be a compelling start for Trick Williams on the main roster when he gets called up.
Prediction: Trick Melo Gang
Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss [Personal Rivalry]
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss do not have much more to do as a team, so they will inevitably break up to once again pursue their singles careers. It is likely that WWE will book Charlotte to win so that she can target the world title again while Bliss would be relegated to the mid card belt. However, instead of pursuing the old, traditional, route, WWE should instead push Bliss to the main event scene as the heel since she has not seen that spotlight since 2018 and have Flair struggle in the mid card as the babyface to garner sympathy from the crowd and possibly even make the U.S. Title prestigious.
Prediction: Alexa Bliss
Dominick Mysterio (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Finn Balor vs. Sheamus vs. Rusev vs. Penta vs. Logan Paul vs. AJ Styles [IC Title]
Dominick Mysterio had a plethora of targets during his run as IC Champ, including AJ Styles, Rusev, Penta, Sheamus, and even his own father, Rey Mysterio. After winning the title back from John Cena, it is likely that his second reign will last until at least WrestleMania. Even a heel like Logan Paul teased that he wants to win the IC Title and bring it to the Vision. On top of that, a heel like Finn Balor, who has some tension with Dom in the Judgment Day with Dom, wants to win the IC Title after Dom stole the win from him at Mania last year. Dom will prevail against all his past ghosts to solidify his reign.
Prediction: Dirty Dom
Chelsea Green (c) vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Giulia [U.S. Title]
The main storyline going on right now with this title is between Chelsea Green and Giulia. That will likely continue until Mania, as WWE has tendency to drag storylines long past its expiration date. However, to keep things fresh, they can add Tiffany Stratton to the mix, as she not only needs a consolation prize after losing the world title to Jade Cargill but she also has history with both women. Stratton took down Green to become Ms. MITB and she had some teased moments with Giulia during the closing moments of her world title run. Now would be her moment to shut them up for good.
Prediction: Tiffany Stratton
Chris Jericho vs. LA Knight [Return Match]
Chris Jericho already called TNA the second best promotion behind WWE, so it's pretty obvious which promotion he is heading to, unless he's performatively trolling the entire pro wrestling fanbase. As long as these fans don't work themselves into a shoot, it's safe to say that Jericho will show up in the WWE by Rumble season and have an opponent for this rumored "retirement storyline." Since LA Knight is directionless and needs a push, promo battling a veteran like Jericho would give him the spotlight he needs for either a rub or a Mania moment. Due to this being Jericho's return, he will win.
Prediction: Chris Jericho
Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan [World Title]
Since returning to the WWE and helping Dom win back the IC Title, Liv Morgan already teased that she is targeting Stephanie Vaquer's World Title. Before she could do that, Raquel Rodriguez targeted Vaquer for the belt. WWE is going to play the long game and have Vaquer run through every member of the Judgment Day before battling the final boss in Morgan. After Vaquer beats Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, Morgan will be the one to take Vaquer down. Vaquer still needs some work in the mid card, and Morgan was the one of the most prestigious world champs since that belt's inception.
Prediction: Liv Morgan
Cody Rhodes (c) (w/Randy Orton) vs. Gunther [WWE Title]
John Cena passed the torch to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, and Gunther took the mantle from Cena in his last match at SNME. As a tribute to John Cena, this title match needs to happen. There are rumors of Rhodes battling Roman Reigns and Gunther battling AJ Styles, but those options are relatively underwhelming. After Gunther made Cena tap out, he needs to follow that up by winning the Rumble to earn a title shot and main event his first Mania. And, to make things even more exciting, Randy Orton can turn heel by costing Rhodes the title here and setting up a program for the summer.
Prediction: Gunther
