TNA Impact! Results & Thoughts – 10/22/09
Here’s what happened on TNA Impact for Thursday, October 22nd:
The night kicked off with Kurt Angle coming out to the ring to say that he’s changed his mind about some of the younger guys. He’s interrupted by Rhino who thinks that TNA’s trying to push the veterans out the door. Team 3D comes out to get their hands on Rhino after him interfering in their tag title match at Bound For Glory, and think that he’s just paranoid.
Backstage interview with AJ Styles and Daniels about their matches coming up tonight and at the next PPV.
Raisha Saeed backstage interview saying that she’s not afraid of Awesome Kong.
Taz and Mike Tenay are running down the match listing for the night, when Homicide starts beating the crap out of Amazing Red all the way out to the ring. Once they get back to ringside, Homicide defeats Red via pinfall after hitting the Gringo Killa (non-title match up).
Scott Steiner backstage interview where he butchers the English language and doesn’t even know if his opponent is Mike or Matt Morgan. Matt Morgan defeats Scott Steiner via pinfall with some help from Bobby Lashley. Before and during the match, Steiner went and tried to make moves at Lashley’s wife who was sitting ringside. Lashley came out and beat down Steiner and rolled him back in for Morgan to pick up the scraps.
Awesome Kong speaks… in her few words she basically said NO MORE ORDERS! FINISHED!
Kevin Nash and Samoa Joe defeat AJ Styles and Daniels via pinfall after a Nash chokeslam on Daniels. Nash then calls out Eric Young after the screw job at Bound for Glory.
Eric Young cuts off a Jeremy Borash promo and tells Kevin Nash he’s not that hard to find!
Motor City Machine Guns talk about their Ultimate X Match later in the evening.
The Beautiful People have a new “reality show” called Meanest Girls where they jump Taylor Wilde and Sarita at the catering tables…FOOD FIGHT!!!
Awesome Kong defeats Raisha Saeed via pinfall after an Implant Buster. Kong then destroys Raisha Saeed for good hitting an Awesome Bomb on her off the side of the entrance ramp. Saeed had to be stretchered off.
Hernandez defeats Rhino via pinfall after hitting a big splash off the top rope. Rhino attacks Hernandez after the bell, but just as Hernandez turns it around, Team 3D comes in to calm him down and stop him from hitting the Border Toss.
Jeremy Borash is talking to Kurt Angle in his locker room, and he’s interrupted by new TNA talent, Desmond Wolfe (aka Nigel McGuinness). After telling Kurt that he’s the reason why he got into wrestling, Wolfe beats Angle down.
Motor City Machine Guns defeat Lethal Consequences in an Ultimate X Match to become the #1 Contenders for the TNA Tag Titles.
Two backstage segments talking to both British Invasion and Beer Money Inc.
Main Event – TNA Tag Team Championships – 6 Sides of Steel
Beer Money Inc. defeats British Invasion via disqualification after Brutus Magnus hit the referee on purpose. The Brits retain the Tag Team Titles.
AJ Styles is shown putting stuff in the trunk of his car when he gets attacked by someone. Can’t really see who it is.
Kurt Angle comes out to the Impact Zone and calls out the new guy, Desmond Wolfe, who jumps Angle from behind, and beats the crap out of him!
**TNA Impact goes off the air**
Quick Thoughts:
Glad to see that TNA is FINALLY using the Motor City Machine Guns on Impact for wrestling and not just silly interview or ringside antics. They deserve to be in the hunt for the Tag Team Titles, and now they’re the #1 Contenders.
I haven’t cared for Rhino in a long time. It’s nice to see him get another shot at being featured, but he’s not going to be bringing in the ratings unless he starts going hardcore again. His character is just a whinny little bitch now!
Well… Raisha Saeed looks to be broken in half. I’m guessing that character is gone from TNA for good. You don’t cross Kong!
The guy who attacked AJ Styles looked like he was bald, and right now I have two possible ideas of who it might be: 1) Tomko 2) Frank Trigg (Kurt Angle’s buddy).
NIGEL MCGUINNESS IS IN TNA!!! Well, let me rephrase that. Desmond Wolfe has arrived in TNA, and the world better take notice! This has the possibility to make Wolfe’s career and shoot him right to the top of TNA! Look at what Angle has done for Matt Morgan’s career. He’ll do the same for Wolfe.
