Hulk Hogan short teaser clip to TNA Impact theme package.

Video package: Last week’s situation with Kurt Angle and Desmond Wolfe.

Wolfe comes out to the ring to talk about how he was bread to be a champion, no gold medal needed.  He’s interrupted by Angle who says he “messed with the wrong guy.”

Backstage: Lauren and AJ Styles watch footage from last week’s attack.  Interrupted by Samoa Joe saying that he thinks it was Daniels who attacked him from behind.

Backstage: Team 3D confronted by Rhino who’s still paranoid about the young guys trying to boot them out of TNA.  3D thinks he’s still nuts!

Clip of the TNAwrestling.com video segment, Hermie’s Hotseat with Amazing Red and Don West.

Legend’s Title Match
Ruled a no contest after Scott Steiner interfered and attacked Bobby Lashley while wrestling against champion, Eric Young.

World Elite comes down to ringside in some spiffy looking jogging suits (looks like they’re getting warmed up for a soccer/football match).  British Invasion says that they’re “technically, suspended without pay till the Turning Point PPV.”  Eric Young then announces that the Legend’s Title is no more!  His belt is now the TNA Global Championship and there are 2 conditions to this title:
1) This belt will NEVER be defended on U.S. soil
2) It will NEVER be defended against an American wrestler.
Segment is interrupted by Kevin Nash who’s pissed that he hasn’t gotten his money from Young.  Beer Money runs in from behind to attack World Elite.

Backstage: AJ Styles and Daniels argue about what Samoa Joe said to AJ earlier.

The Beautiful People defeated ODB, Hamada, and Christy Hemme via pin fall after some weak ass looking chokeslam from Lacey Von Erich.  After the match Awesome Kong comes out to destroy the ladies, when she’s attacked by Tara.  They battle it out all over the entrance ramp and backstage.

Abyss defeats Dr. Stevie via pin fall after hitting Shock Treatment in a no DQ match up.  After the match Dr. Stevie attacks Abyss from behind.  Mick Foley comes out to the ring, grabs a kendo stick and hits Dr. Stevie instead of Abyss…

Backstage: Jeremy Borash catches up with Foley to ask him why he hit Dr. Stevie and not Abyss.  He says, “Abyss knows why.”

Matt Morgan defeats Rhino via pin fall after hitting the Carbon Footprint.  Rhino attacks Morgan after match and hits him with a GORE GORE GORE!  Hernandez comes out to save the day as Rhino bails.

Backstage: Samoa Joe is confronted by Daniels.  Joe uses the opportunity to plant the seed that AJ looks down on Daniels.

Backstage: Homicide confronts Don West and says that he deserves a title shot against Amazing Red at Turning Point, then steals his ID and cash from his wallet.

Backstage: Jeremy Borash with Kurt Angle.  Angle’s pissed that Wolfe’s trying to make a name for himself at his own expense.

Backstage: Lauren reports and cameras show that AJ Styles was attacked and lying on the floor.  He was then taken to the ER.

Main Event – Street Fight
There is no pin fall in this match up between Kurt Angle and Desmond Wolfe.  Wolfe hits a vicious lariat and Angle looks like he’s paralyzed.  Angle’s carted off with a neck brace.

Hulk Hogan New York City press conference video shown.  We see TNA President, Dixie Carter, along with Eric Bischoff, and some Spike TV executive.  Hogan came to TNA to make it the #1 wrestling franchise in the world!

QUICK THOUGHTS:

This was probably TNA’s most solid show in a long time.  I don’t think I looked at the clock once because I was bored!  Kudos for that!

I like the fact that TNA did NOT have to use Joe, Daniels or AJ Styles in the ring once this episode to get story line across.  I don’t say that very often, but this story line is being handled with care.  Them not having run ins, or backstage brawls tonight set a good tone.  This is more a psychological story that we have to watch to understand, making the backstage segments mean something!  Smart work with that idea.  It’s something that the competition doesn’t do well or very often.  AJ lying on the floor already attacked keeps us guessing who’s responsible.

The angle with Rhino’s paranoia and now Team 3D’s controversial loss, is going to be a good one, I just have this feeling.  It’s indirectly addressing the issues that WCW had in their latter years when the older talent were afraid to lose their spots to better talent.  Well I think that in this situation, the better athletes will come out on top, no matter if they’re young guns or old dogs who can still fight.

Lacey Von Erich needs another new finisher.  First she tried to use the weak ass, outdated Claw maneuver and now she’s trying to use a chokeslam???  WTF!?!  That’s not a believable finisher for a woman that looks like a twig.  I’m sorry, but leave the chokeslams to the giants over 7 feet tall!

I’m still in shock that TNA’s pushing Desmond Wolfe so much so quickly!  Angle getting laid out tonight, looking like he’s seriously injured… WOW!  Can’t wait to see what they do next week with this story.

The Hulk Hogan press conference was really not all that the hype made it out to be.  I was more excited when I read stuff on the net two days ago when the story broke.  I AM excited to see how things go down, but tonight was just video footage.  Not a huge deal.  The one thing I’m looking forward to is seeing the ratings for this episode of Impact!  Will Hulk Hogan’s signing have a direct effect on how many people tuned in?
