Here’s the rundown on what happened on TNA Impact for 11/12/09:

Video Package: Replay of Dixie Carter and the message to the TNA locker room of the direction they are going.

Backstage: Mick Foley, Jeremy Borash, and special guest, Super Dave who’s promoting his new Spike TV show, are in Foley’s office.  Foley tells him he can make one match tonight, then leaves the room.

  • Interrupted by “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal who wonders who is the competitor that accepted his legend’s challenge for the Black Machismo Invitational.  They don’t know!

Dr. Stevie (with Daffney) defeated Abyss via pin fall.

  • During the match, Abyss dominated.  LIGHTS OUT/LIGHTS ON.  Abyss is laid out!  Stevie scores the pin fall.  Then tries to beat down Abyss after the match some more with a chair.
  • Foley, who was at ringside on commentary, comes to Abyss’ aid.  LIGHTS OUT.  All of a sudden a fire ball lights up the ring and we see Foley burned.  LIGHTS ON.  We see Raven in ring who hits the Even Flow DDT on Foley.

Backstage: JB is backstage with Dr. Stevie, Daffney and Raven.  Raven talks about how much fun it’s going to be to battle with Abyss.

Announcement: NEXT WEEK, Sting speaks about Hulk Hogan coming to TNA.  They also show a video package on will he stay or will he retire.

Alyssa Flash defeated Traci Brooks via submission due to an arm bar.  After the match up Traci jumps Alyssa and swears like a trucker at her!

Black Machismo Invitational
Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart defeated Jay Lethal via pin fall after hitting a power slam.

Video Package: (Earlier In The Day) Lauren interviews Bobby Lashley when a production guy comes running in to grab Lashley to come to the truck.  He shows him a video of Scott Steiner who’s at Lashley’s hotel, where his wife, Krystal is staying.  Lashley bolts back to the hotel with cameramen following behind.

Backstage: JB is backstage again with Super Dave who presumes now that since Mick was burned with the fireball and rushed to the hospital, he’s in charge.  Asks JB to help him make a match.  JB says X-Division is the way to go!

Awesome Kong and The Beautiful People defeated ODB, Taylor Wilde, Sarita, and Tara via pin fall after Kong hit an Implant Buster on Taylor Wilde.

Backstage: JB brings some of the X-Division guys to Foley’s office to see Super Dave.  He tells them to risk their lives in honor of Foley tonight!

Video Package: What does Hulk Hogan coming to TNA mean to you?
Kurt Angle – Says that Hogan knows what works and what doesn’t.  He’s intelligent in entertaining people and with getting publicity.  This is TNA’s time!

Video Package: (Earlier In The Day) Lashley shows up at the hotel room to save his wife.  She’s perfectly fine, but then he’s jumped by Steiner from behind with a pipe!

Kurt Angle comes down to the ring.  Says that Turning Point is going to be the biggest match ever in TNA between Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Daniels.  Much respect for them, but none is shown to Desmond Wolfe. Angle says, “he will terminate Wolfe’s career!”

  • Interrupted by Wolfe on the big screen.  He’s sitting at a bar with a lady friend.  Says, “Desmond Wolfe is here to take your place!”
  • Wolfe appears behind Kurt Angle while video is playing to jump him, but Angle realized when he tried to comment back to it that it wasn’t live and countered.  By the end of the exchange, Wolfe is standing after hitting a DDT on Angle out on the floor and hits him with a chair shot.

Amazing Red (with Don West) and Motor City Machine Guns defeated Sheik Abdul Bashir, Homicide, and Kiyoshi via pin fall after Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin hit a Neck Breaker-Splash Combo on Bashir.

Backstage: Lauren is with Desmond Wolfe who says he’s “followed Kurt forever and now he’s here to replace him because he’s better, more athletic, and healthier than Angle.”

Video Package: More clips from Dixie Carter’s meeting with the TNA roster.

Team 3D and Rhino come to the ring.  They say they’re on board with Dixie Carter!  Brother Ray says he doesn’t feel guilty that he belted Matt Morgan and Hernandez with a chair last week and then apologizes to Rhino for not believing him about the young guys pushing them out the door.  They call out Morgan and Hernandez.

  • Ray tells Morgan, “I’ve spilled more DNA in TNA than you have shower time!”  Tells Hernandez, “You’re just a Mexican with no Green Card.”  Asks them about the match at Turning Point if they’ve found a partner for their 6-man tag.
  • Interrupted by The Pope, D’Angelo Dinero.  Who says “Look no further for the 3rd man!”

Video Package: Public Service Announcement from Matt Morgan about how he over came ADHD.

Backstage: Lauren is with the British Invasion and Eric Young.  They’re a little ticked that their suspension has been lifted because they shouldn’t have to wrestle until Turning Point.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Rundown of the Turning Point card for THIS SUNDAY (Preview Coming, Stay Tuned To DailyDDT.com)

Video Package: Hulk Hogan saying that TNA is the place to be with highlights of different TNA stars.

Backstage: JB is with AJ Styles who apologizes to Daniels for accusing him of the attacks, but not for being the TNA Heavyweight Champion.  He says, “I am the best at what I do!” (OKAY JERICHO…)

Beer Money Inc. defeated the British Invasion via pin fall after hitting Drinking While Investing (DWI).  This win puts them into the Tag Team Title match at Turning point against the Brits and the Motor City Machine Guns.

Backstage: JB with Matt Morgan, Hernandez, and D’Angelo Dinero.

  • Morgan “wants to know what makes him able to trust a street pimp!”
  • Dinero responds, “Pope’s word is golden…If THEY hold US back, that includes The Pope!”

Backstage: Lauren with Daniels who is still pissed at AJ.  He says, “This is the wrestling business;  there is no family, and when that bell rings, there is NO FRIENDS!”

Samoa Joe defeated AJ Styles via knockout after AJ Styles blacked out while in a rear naked choke.  During the match Daniels came to ringside and distracted AJ, “accidentally” knocking him off the top rope allowing Joe to sneak in from behind.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

For some reason during the Flash vs. Brooks match, the announcers eluded to a “handicap” that Traci Brooks has had since she was little with her right arm, which was targeted by Alyssa Flash.  Traci has NEVER had shown any weakness in that arm before to my knowledge, so I’m a little confused why they would pull a work like this…

WOW!  Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart!  I’m all for seeing legends getting back into the ring once in awhile, but he’s a lot more “well rounded” than he was when he was in WWF.  He was always a big guy, but dang!

Red and the MMG on the same team!  Talk about an amazing trio!  Wouldn’t mind seeing those guys team up or square off more often!

Desmond Wolfe’s newest catchphrase: “You will all bow to my howl!”  It’s kind of catchy and corny all at the same time!

It’s good to see The Pope back on TNA programming after he’s been gone for a few weeks with a family emergency.  He was supposed to be in that crazy Ultimate X match back at the last PPV, but no showed.

It was different seeing a PSA on TNA programming.  Hell, when was the last time a TV show plugged a PSA period?  Good for TNA to get involved in informing people of ADHD and how people CAN over come it!
