TNA’s latest PPV offering, Turning Point, did not disappoint TRUE wrestling fans!  Here’s what happened:

The night was kicked off by a video package about change for the future!

Opening Contest
Amazing Red (with Don West) defeated Homicide via pin fall after countering a top rope rana by Homicide and then hitting Code Red for the win.

Women’s Titles – Everything on the line
ODB, Sarita & Taylor Wilde defeated The Beautiful People via pin fall after ODB slammed Madison Rayne.

TNA Tag Team Titles
British Invasion defeated Motor City Machine Guns, & Beer Money Inc. via pin fall on Robert Roode.

  • During the match, Eric Young came down to interfere.  As he backed up the ramp, Kevin Nash came and snatched the Global Title from him and progressed to hit James Storm, leaving Roode to deal with the Brits on his own.

Backstage: Jeremy Borash with Kevin Nash.  Nash says, “Hogan knows why I did this!”

Six Sides of Steel
Tara defeated Awesome Kong via pin fall after hitting a Thez Press from off the top of the cage.  During the match, Tara power bombed Kong off the top rope!  After the match, Lauren caught up with Tara who said, “I said I was going to beat the best women’s wrestler in the world, and I DID!  ODB I’m coming for you!”

Video Package: TNA and Hulk Hogan partnership.

Team 3D & Rhino defeated Matt Morgan, Hernandez, & D’Angelo Dinero via pin fall after a Brother Devon hit Hernandez in the gut with a chair, followed by a Rhino GORE GORE GORE!

Backstage: Lauren with Scott Steiner who says in so many words that Lashley’s wife wants him, yadda, yadda, yadda…  The match stipulations were changed last minute to a No DQ, Falls Count Anywhere Match.

No DQ, Falls Count Anywhere Match
Scott Steiner defeated Bobby Lashley via pin fall out near the Spanish announce table, after Steiner hit Lashley with a pipe from one of the scaffolds.

Backstage: JB with Kurt Angle who says, “No one makes their rep on my behalf!  You want me, you got me!”

Kurt Angle defeated Desmond Wolfe via submission due to a side triangle choke.

Backstage: JB with Samoa Joe who says, “I didn’t cause the problem with AJ Styles and Daniels, I just presented the truth!”

TNA World Heavyweight Title
AJ Styles defeated Samoa Joe & Daniels via pin fall.

  • Crazy end sequence.  Daniels hits Best Moonsault Ever (BME) on Joe, goes for a pin, but AJ hits the 450 Splash on top of both men, and pins Samoa Joe to retain!

Final Resolution PPV Video Package… PPV goes off the air.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

My hat is off to TNA!  My predictions sucked big time, but unpredictability is a great thing!

I really don’t know which match was better, so I’m going to say that there were two matches of the night.

  • Angle vs. Wolfe was an absolute technical masterpiece that drew chants from the crowd of “THIS IS WRESTLING!”  Not overly excited about the outcome, but the way he lost was a great way to keep him credible.
  • The TNA Title match was just crazy move after crazy move, counter after counter (didn’t get to know the identity of AJ’s attacker either).

The women’s cage match was insane!  I cannot believe that Tara was able to power bomb Kong, and then to finish the match with a leap off the cage!  All I can say, TNA HAS THE BEST WOMEN’S WRESTLING IN THE WORLD!  WWE would NEVER even think of letting one of their women do something like this!

Lashley and Steiner was absolute bull shit!  I’m so pissed off that it went this way!  So now what, this rivalry is going to continue on for the next month… BARF!!!

Brits dodge ANOTHER bullet!  DANG!  They’re like cats with nine lives!  Sooner or later it’s going to catch up with them!  On the finish, the Guns just disappeared!  WTF!  And I have no clue WTF they’re pulling with Nash.  I’m completely baffled.

Have to say this has to be the PPV of the year for TNA, hell maybe in general!
