TNA Impact – 11/19/09
After an amazing Turning Point, last night’s episode of Impact had some major fall out! Here’s what went down:
Video Package: A rundown on what happened at the Turning Point PPV.
Mick Foley and Abyss come down to ringside and address what happened last week on Impact with Raven using a fireball on Mick’s face, burning him and hurting his eye! Mick declares, “Vengeance will be ours tonight!” Also Foley makes a fleeting comment about how he’s a little upset that he wasn’t involved with the signing of Hulk Hogan.
- Out walks Raven, Dr. Stevie, and Daffney. Stevie makes a bunch of cheesy jokes about Mick being “hot under the collar” referring to his burns. Tells Abyss, “You started this war, but we’re going to finish it!”
- Raven pokes Foley saying, “Do you need Dixie (Carter)’s permission to make matches anymore?!?”
ANNOUNCEMENT: TNA is having Black Friday sales all week leading up to Black Friday. Go to TNAShop.com for discounted TNA merchandise! I’m so there!!!
Backstage: Jeremy Borash is with Kurt Angle and AJ Styles.
- AJ says that this whole competition between he and Daniels has now turned personal.
- Angle is a little puzzled as to why AJ is giving Daniels a title shot… AJ calls out Kurt, anytime, anywhere… JB reminds them that they’re on the same team tonight against Daniels and Desmond Wolfe. Kurt walks out!
NON-TITLE Match Up – Amazing Red (with Don West) vs. Scott Steiner
WINNER: Amazing Red via DQ. Steiner had the match well in hand, but decided to inflict some punishment on Red with a steel pipe and the X-Division Title. Bobby Lashley came out to save the day and Steiner bailed out.
Backstage: JB catches up with Kevin Nash and Eric Young.
- Nash give Young his Global Title back, and tells him that he’s one of the first people to out think him. Offers EY a partnership, and EY accepts!
- Nash addresses a statement to Mick Foley, “Answers will be here…”
Motor City Machine Guns and Beer Money Inc. vs. World Elite (British Invasion, Kiyoshi, and Sheik Abdul Bashir)
WINNERS: Motor City Machine Guns and Beer Money Inc. via pin fall. Late in the match, Big Rob came down to help, but accidentally clothes-lined Brutus Magnus allowing the Guns to hit their Splash/Neck Breaker combo.
- Eric Young was on commentary putting over World Elite as smart, thinking wrestlers, and was furious when Big Rob messed things up!
Backstage: Mick Foley with Kevin Nash.
- Foley asks Nash what he knows, “Everyone knows you’re Hogan’s boy, let me in…”
- Nash replies, “Hulk’s here for business only. Get me my money back (from his suspension), and I’ll tell you what you need to know.” As he leaves he also remarks, “When he comes back, he’s not coming alone.”
Video Package: Hulk Hogan and the fans reactions to the big signing.
Backstage: Abyss and Mick Foley are in the office with Jeremy Borash.
- Abyss is trying to be the voice of reason and doesn’t want Foley to be permanently damaged if he gets in the ring tonight.
- Mick jokes, “At least he knows he has a future job as a TNA referee!” (He was wearing a patch over his eye the whole night!)
- Mick is still pissed about Dixie Carter not filling him in on the Hogan signing.
Hamada vs. Taylor Wilde
WINNER: Hamada via pin fall after hitting the Hamada Driver.
Backstage: Abyss pushes a desk in front of Mick’s office door, preventing him from getting to the ring.
Dr. Stevie and Raven vs. Abyss (Foley was supposed to tag with him)

- AJ Styles – He’s excited! Wants to sit down with Hogan and just ask him question after question till he kicks him out of the room.
Alyssa Flash vs. Sarita
WINNER: Sarita via pin fall after hitting a mule kick to the face of Alyssa Flash. After the match up, Traci Brooks blindsides Flash for the beating she gave her last week on impact!

Video Package: Sting no showed the interview he was supposed to have to talk about his future plans with TNA as well as the arrival of Hulk Hogan.
Backstage: Lauren is with Desmond Wolfe and Daniels.
- Wolfe says, “We’re on the same page…We’ve got something to prove!”
- Daniels addresses AJ Styles saying, “You can’t beat me! I will prove that tonight!”
Desmond Wolfe and Daniels vs. AJ Styles and Kurt Angle
WINNERS: Wolfe and Daniels via pin fall after Daniels hit the Best Moonsault Ever (BME) on AJ Styles for the 1-2-3! Angle chased Wolfe into the back and could not make the save.
QUICK THOUGHTS:
When Abyss blocked Mick Foley’s door, I’m wondering if the writers realized it, but Foley’s door looks like it opens inward. Meaning he can still open the door and push the desk out of the way… If my vision was correct, EPIC FAIL on that one TNA!
In the video package about Sting not making the interview, they show the front of his house… He no showed an interview that was out in his front yard. Really?!? That’s just dumb.
The ODB Trash Talk segment was ridiculous! The set looked like a mashed up version of a trailer park meets a interview backdrop and Homicide and ODB were acting like they were drunk.
The two women’s matches were very entertaining. I was shocked to see Hamada pick up a victory over Taylor Wilde! I wonder what plans TNA has in store for her?
I didn’t expect to see Jessie Neal like that! When he first came out to the ring, I only saw him from behind, and I noticed the Mohawk, and thought it might be Shannon Moore. Was caught off guard to see the former Navy man come in with a total change of attitude and a mean streak. During his interview he talked like he was having a fit of ‘Roid Rage!
The main event was another technically sound match up. I’m glad they gave Daniels the pin fall. This is going to be a great lead up to Final Resolution.
