Friday Night Smackdown – 11/4/09
In case you missed Smackdown last night, here’s what happened:

CM Punk with Luke Gallows vs. R-Truth
WINNER: R-Truth via DQ after Gallows got involved in the match up. After the match it turned into a 2-on-1 beat down.
Kane vs. Mike Knox
WINNER: Kane via pin fall due to a Chokeslam.
Backstage: Josh Matthews is with Big Show & Chris Jericho. Y2J says, “In 10 days, the most dominant tag team in memory will destroy DX!” They then talk about the damaging factors of the weapons in their TLC match.
Triple Threat – #1 Contenders Match
Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Natalya – (Michelle McCool & Layla at ringside)
WINNER: Mickie James via pin fall after she picked up the scraps from a Beth Phoenix Glam Slam on Natalya.
- After match, Josh Matthews comes in ring to talk to Mickie who says, “Michelle, you’ve gone way beyond personal… I’m going to shut you up permanently!” Melee ensues 2-on-1 until Maria appears to help Mickie.
Backstage: Teddy Long with Batista who says, “I do not approve of your behavior, especially towards Rey Mysterio… Next week, you will face Rey on his terms, in a Street Fight!”
Backstage: Matt Hardy is playing Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 when John Morrison walks into the room who says, “You know what’s better than beating up Drew McIntyre in virtual reality? Beating him in real life!”
John Morrison vs. Drew McIntyre
WINNER: Drew McIntyre via pin fall. McIntyre suckered Morrison out of the ring and rammed his skull into the support beams under the ring apron, then rolled him back into the ring for a Double Arm DDT and the win.
Vickie Guerrero comes down to ring and talks crap about Eric Escobar. Says that he’ll pay the consequences and demands an apology from him.
- Escobar comes out and says, “I’m very, very sorry… that you and I ever met, and I wasted my time with you!”
- Vickie then puts him in a handicap match against the Hart Dynasty.
Hart Dynasty (DH Smith & Tyson Kidd) vs. Eric Escobar
WINNER(S): Hart Dynasty via pin fall after hitting a Springboard Hart Attack. After the match, Vickie Guerrero slapped Escobar while he was being held down by DH Smith.
Backstage: Josh Matthews is with CM Punk and Luke Gallows. Gallows speaks, “Everyone I loved… Forced me to walk around in a comatose state! Thankfully, someone came along to help me!” He then calls CM Punk, “Our Savior!”
Cryme Tyme (Shad Gaspard & JTG) vs. JeriShow
WINNERS: JeriShow via pin fall after Shad Gaspard got his head knocked off by Big Show’s KO Punch!
The Undertaker comes to the ring to make comments towards Batista, but before he can get to the ring, Batista destroys Taker with a chair leaving him battered and broken!
QUICK THOUGHTS:
I’m hoping that Gallows getting involved in Punk’s matches is an every week occurrence. That gets old very quickly. I like the partnership, but don’t have Punk go on a losing streak because of DQs.
Glad they’re actually giving Mickie James the title shot for the Women’s title. I hope that they’re just not doing it, just to have her lose on a PPV or something. Mickie is the best wrestler they have and they should show her some respect for her talent.
I see a Drew McIntyre title run coming! Morrison’s going to drop the belt to him soon enough, then maybe get his chances in the main event spotlight.
Vickie and Eric Escobar story line is repetitive… I don’t know if this means we’re seeing the last of Escobar on WWE programming or not, but I’m just sick of Vince’s perverted brain coming up with stories where someone wants to sleep with Vickie Guerrero to get ahead in the business! That’s just nasty!
Cryme Tyme jobbed to JeriShow… Well I guess that’s a step backwards for SD! tag teams! DAMN!
Taker gets destroyed by Batista again! I’m starting to think that maybe Batista’s wasting his time now and that next week just before TLC, he’ll get his just desserts.
