ECW on Syfy – 1/26/10
Will Christian get some sort of retribution against William Regal & Ezekiel Jackson before the Royal Rumble? Find out what happened last night, right here:
William Regal is in the ring and introduces “the NEXT ECW Champion” Ezekiel Jackson. Jackson takes the mic, “Five days, that’s all you have left. Last week we left with you laying sprawled at my feet. That image is going to repeat itself on Sunday, but as you drift in and out of consciousness, you will hear your winner and NEW ECW Champion, Ezekiel Jackson!”
- Christian comes out to the entrance ramp. Christian quotes the Book of Ezekiel 25:17, “I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and furious anger, those who attempt to destroy my brothers, and you will know my name is ‘Capt. Charisma’ when I lay my vengeance upon thee!”
- Zeke calls him a funny guy, but also says, “you’ve never faced anyone like me.”
- Christian drops descriptions of people he’s beaten and gives him credit for being a “freak of nature,” but Christian is looking forward to facing him at the Royal Rumble. He then says that tonight, “the odds will be even” and Kane walks out to be Christian’s tag team partner.

Byron Saxton & Josh Matthews run down the card for this weekend’s Royal Rumble PPV.
Backstage: Shelton Benjamin looks directly into the camera, “It doesn’t matter if your first man in, last in… the only thing that matters is who’s last man standing because the last man changes the course of his career by headlining WrestleMania…
- Vance Archer comes from off screen and blasts Benjamin with a big boot! Then looks into the camera and says, “All Shelton has is hopes and dreams because that’s reality.”
Caylen Croft, Trent Barreta & Zack Ryder with Rosa Mendez vs. Yoshi Tatsu, Goldust & The Hurricane
WINNERS: Tatsu, Goldust & The Hurricane via pin fall after Tatsu tagged Barreta with a boot to the side of his head
QUICK THOUGHTS:
I’ve got to say for ECW only having two matches it was a pretty damn good show!
Even though he looks like a big, dumb, muscle head, it always surprises me when Big Zeke talks in his promos and sounds as soft spoken as he does. It’s not a bad thing at all, in fact it could be worse, he could talk like Mike Tyson! I’ll give Zeke some credit. He is getting better in the ring, and if he does win the belt this weekend at the Royal Rumble, I wouldn’t be too surprised. You’ll just have to wait for my official prediction for the Rumble coming Sunday! The tag team match between Regal/Jackson & Kane/Christian was pretty good. It took up most of the first half hour after the initial in ring promo.
The main event was great and action packed! Goldust can still hang with the young guys and those prospects are proving they deserve to be under the lights of a WWE ring. I can’t help but think in the near future, we’re going to see Yoshi Tatsu on a PPV competing for the ECW Title, and Croft & Barreta on Smackdown!
