After the beat down last week on Kevin Nash by The Band, what would happen this week on Impact?  Would revenge be sought?  Find out here:

Hulk Hogan comes to the ring and tells the crowd that “the Impact Zone is on Lockdown, if you’ve got to pee, you’ve better hold it because no one is going in or out of the building… the one thing that makes me go sideways is taking out another brother… that’s totally unacceptable… if Scott Hall & Six Pac (Sean Waltman) sneak in here, I might just have to throw on the red and yellow… I’m going to do what I got to do!”

  • Interrupted by Eric Young, “Me and Kevin Nash, we’re boys.  I need a favor, let Hall and Pac in here so they can get what’s coming.”
  • Hogan replies, “I know who you are and where you’re going… They’re not getting in here.”
  • E.Y.’s upset now, “If you’re not going to let them in, then I’m going to them!”
  • Hogan offers advice, “Do it Kevin’s way, outside, off the property and bust them up real bad!”

Backstage: Mick Foley enters the backstage area and asks a producer where he can find Eric Bischoff.

Backstage: Hall and Six Pac are lurking around the parking lot trying to find a way into the building.

WINNER: D’Angelo Dinero via pin fall after hitting the D’Angelo Dinero Express (DDE)

Backstage: Jeff Jarrett talking to Eric Bischoff, “I know what you’re doing… I just hope that last week I delivered for you.”

  • Bischoff blows a lot of smoke up Jarrett’s ass about him being an asset to the company that we can work with.
  • Jarrett thinks Bischoff’s being honest and asks for one of the empty slots in the Eight Card Stud Tournament as a way to prove he can move his way up from the bottom.
  • Bischoff doesn’t think that he’s ready and says, “What if you win the tournament?  You’re the #1 contender.  That’s not really starting from the bottom is it?  So, No!”
  • Jarrett leaves upset.

Eight Card Stud Tournament Qualifier
Suicide vs. Matt Morgan
WINNER: Matt Morgan via pin fall after hitting the Carbon Footprint

Backstage: Mick Foley enters the office of Eric Bischoff.  “I want you to know, I’m on board if you can give me assurance that Jeremy Borash & Abyss will be taken care of…”

  • Bischoff looks a little shocked, and he decides to take Foley at his word.  He then offers Foley a spot for Abyss in the Eight Card Stud Tournament, but there’s always a catch.  He tells Foley that he himself will be Abyss’ first round opponent at Against All Odds this Sunday.  Bischoff tells him outright, “If there’s any shenanigans, Abyss’ mask will come off next week on Impact.”

Taz & Mike Tenay run down the brackets for the Eight Card Stud Tournament.

Backstage: Christy Hemme is with Mr. Anderson & Kurt Angle who are 1st round opponents Sunday, but unlikely tag team partners tonight…

  • Mr. Anderson takes the mic, “I’ve carried enough partners over the years… what really matters is Sunday!”
  • Angle grabs the mic and looks deep into the soul of Anderson, “I don’t know what your intentions are, if you screw me the way Hogan screwed me, I’m going to snap your ankle faster than that ridiculous microphone can fall from the ceiling!”

Backstage: Kurt Angle approaches Eric Young, “I appreciate what you’re trying to do for Kevin, but as a veteran, this is a fight you CANNOT win…”

  • EY thinks that Angle’s going to help him, but Angle says, “No, I’m going alone… You’re staying here!”

Amazing Red vs. Doug Williams (Champion)
WINNER: Doug Williams via pin fall after hitting the Rolling Chaos Theory Suplex to retain the X-Division Title

Video Package: The history of the rivalry between Tara & Angelina Love.

Backstage: Christy Hemme is with Tara & Angelina Love who are paired up tonight to take on The Beautiful People.

  • Love says, “The past is the past… Last week the Beautiful People interfered in our match.  You had my back, and I had yours, and tonight it’s going to be the same.”
  • Tara adds, “It’s going to get ugly!”

Handicap Match
Tara & Angelina Love vs. The Beautiful People (Velvet Sky, Madison Rayne & Lacey Von Erich)
WINNERS: The Beautiful People via pin fall after Lacey used the ugly stick on Angelina allowing Velvet to get the pin.

  • After the match, Tara tries to help her partner but gets beaten down with the ugly stick too.

Backstage: Christy Hemme with Desmond Wolfe who will be tagging with Hernandez against Kurt Angle & Mr. Anderson later.  “Life is like a poker game… maybe the four guys involved in this match are four of a kind, but there’s only one king (points to himself)… you’re going to have to work pretty hard just to make it to Sunday!”

Backstage: Hall and Pac are still slithering around the parking lot looking for an unlocked door.

Desmond Wolfe & Hernandez vs. Kurt Angle & Mr. Anderson
WINNERS: Anderson & Angle via pin fall.  After Angle Slam on Hernandez, Anderson tagged himself in, dumped Angle out, and picked the bones of Hernandez for the win.

Samoa Joe comes to the ring and calls out the TNA World Champion, AJ Styles who comes out with his mentor, Ric Flair.  Joe says bluntly, “You absolutely disgust me!  We didn’t rest, we gave everything we had for the people here!  That right there (Flair) is why I’m disgusted with you.  You used to earn what you got…”

  • Flair gets on the mic and says, “AJ IS THE CHAMPION, and you’re going to learn the word respect!”
  • Joe chimes back, “AJ, you were the last pure thing in this company… you cheated the fans out of something they wanted, a champion!”
  • AJ then comments about how many alliance changes Samoa Joe has had over the past couple of years, “who are you to judge the Phenomenal AJ Styles?”
  • Joe goes right back, “There’s one major difference, every new comer, I stood in his face.  You fell to your knees and kissed the ring of your new sugar daddy (points to Flair).”  Melee ensues and quickly turns into a two on one beat down of Joe.

Backstage: AJ is on a cell phone about to leave the building when he runs into Eric Bischoff who says, “Livin’ large, huh?  Hulk and I were talking and considering your match this weekend and considering your recent history with controversey, we decided that we needed a special referee we could trust to call it down the middle… ME!”

  • AJ is upset and jumps back on the phone to tell Flair what’s happening.

Taz & Mike Tenay run down the card for this weekend’s Against All Odds PPV.

Backstage: Hulk Hogan cuts off Kurt Angle as he’s trying to leave the building to confront Scott Hall and Six Pac.  “It ain’t going to happen this way Kurt!”

  • “I knew it would be this way!  I told Dixie Carter not to trust you!”
  • “If you’re so hell bent on getting your ass beat, I’m not going to stand in your way, but I’m going to make sure that it’s going to happen in my house (Hogan opens the backdoor), so when they’re beating you down, maybe someone will come and save your dumbass!  Knowing The Band, they’re going to be showing up soon, brother!”

After a commercial, Angle is back in the ring and Hall and Pac found there way in.  They jump the rail and Angle gets the best of both of them until Pac breaks out a set of brass knuckles.

  • Hogan’s music hits and he walks to the ring and acknowledges the boys in The Band.  Pac hands over the brass knucks to Hogan and they pick up Kurt Angle.   Hogan measures and punches Hall and then Pac!
  • Angle shakes away the cobwebs to realize what Hogan just did!

QUICK THOUGHTS:

The war of words has been very volatile between Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Ric Flair.  I’m hoping that the match this weekend won’t be a technical masterpiece, but a very sloppy, emotion filled battle that leaves one of the men broken and battered in the middle of the ring!

The story line with The Band permeated the entire show.  Am I shocked to see that Hogan wasn’t with them… yes and no!  My hope was that he would do that because that’s what my guy told me, but I don’t put anything past Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff because with their egos, anything can happen.  As for the actual beat down sequence, I’m glad that they had Kurt wake up to realize it was Hogan that saved him.  This may dispel any doubts in his mind where Hogan’s loyalties lie, but I’m still going to be skeptical.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how the Eight Card Stud Tournament plays out.  All of the guys in the tourney have been getting ample television time and decent pushes in the past few months.  If you want to find out who I think will win, stay tuned to the blog for my predictions on Sunday before Against All Odds starts!
