TNA Impact! – 3/22/10
After Destination X, here’s what went down last night on a LIVE edition of TNA Impact:
Show kicked off with a really crappy segment in the ring with Eric Bischoff playing guitar. Looked fake beyond belief.
- Bischoff calls out Jeff Jarrett and challenges him to come out and play the guitar for the crowd, dogging him for using the guitar as a “prop”.
- Jarrett comes out and after some hesitation snatches the guitar from Bischoff and looks like he’s going to clock him with it. He thinks better of it, and puts it down. Jarrett starts heading up the ramp when Bischoff makes a comment about his children not being proud of their father because he’s got no guts. Jarrett turns around, picks up the guitar and blasts Bischoff with it!
Backstage: Mick Foley greets Jarrett with a big hug and a word of congratulations. Jarrett says, “Do you know how good that felt?!?”
- Bischoff finally awakens and grabs a mic, “Jarrett, you and Mick Foley have crossed the line… you want to play games? You two will compete tonight, and I don’t care who wins or loses because the loser will be fired and the other will be my bitch!”
Backstage: We see reactions from Foley and Jarrett. Foley is shockingly calm and Jarrett is pissed blaming himself for the match.
Eight Knockout Tag Team Match
The Beautiful People & Daffney vs. Tara, Sarita, Taylor Wilde & Angelina Love
WINNERS: BP & Daffney via pin after Daffney hit the Lobotomy Neck Breaker on Tara.
Backstage: Ric Flair & AJ Styles arrive at the Impact Zone on the handicap bus. Flair is still in a wheel chair and AJ has a sling and walking with a crutch.
Video Package: Highlights from some of the matches at Destination X.
Hulk Hogan & Abyss come to the ring. Hogan takes mic, “It got real personal with me and Flair… Eric was right, Flair knew every button to push, it was strictly personal… It all stops here, strictly business from now on and we start with Lockdown because you (Abyss) as team captain of Team Hogan, taking on Team Flair, it’s going to be Flair’s last hurrah.
- Abyss warns them about coming to the arena. Then goes on a rant about the power of the Hall of Fame ring. “At Lockdown, I’m going to take care of business… After Lockdown, you’re not going to need bandages or crutches, you’re going to need a mortician!”
- Chelsea wheels out Flair and AJ hobbles behind. “You can’t kill us because we’re wrestling gods!” Flair then names his team captain… STING! Light’s out/on. Hogan is handcuffed to ropes, Styles clocks Abyss with the crutch (not hurt), and Sting is sitting in the corner watching it all occur.
- “Pope” D’Angelo Dinero runs down to save the day! Hogan gets unlocked and grabs Flair’s wheel chair. He takes him to the top of the ramp and lets him go down right into an Abyss clothesline.
Backstage: Christy Hemme catches up with Jeff Hardy, RVD & Shannon Moore as they enter the building. RVD says they’re “going to have some fun at someone else’s expense.”

Loser is Fired Match (No DQ/No CO) – Beer Money Inc. special referees
Mick Foley vs. Jeff Jarrett
WINNER: Jeff Jarrett via pin fall after hitting the Stroke on a chair
- Eric Bischoff came out mid match and jumped on commentary.
- Throughout the entire match, Beer Money did some shady things to both competitors.
- After match, Jarrett is visible upset, but both men embrace and show respect to each other.
- Foley leaves and Bischoff has Beer Money attack Jarrett until he’s saved by Jeff Hardy & RVD. RVD takes mic and offers a challenge to Beer Money and it’s accepted.
Backstage: Foley walking through the back saying goodbye to many of the roster. Bubba The Love Sponge tries to get a word with Foley, but Mick tells him “you’re one of the last people I want to talk to right now.” Bubba takes exception and spouts off, “Well don’t let the door hit you in the ass, old timer!”
- Foley snaps! He grabs Bubba by the collar, pushes him up against the wall, and then clocks him with a forearm shot!
Backstage: Bischoff is visibly happy when he walks into Hulk’s office. Hogan is upset with him over the Foley situation and tells him he’s got to get back to business and put the personal stuff with Jarrett aside. Hogan even goes as far to say that Jarrett is “over with the fans!”
Backstage: Christy Hemme is with Beer Money and they’re pissed off. “We’ve had a lot of time to thing about things, and we’re now all about putting Beer Money first!”
Backstage: Jeremy Borash is with RVD and Jeff Hardy and RVD says, “This isn’t our first shindig. We know exactly what we’re doing!”

- Morgan crushed Hernandez’s head between his foot and the steel ring post when he hit the Carbon Footprint on the outside. EMTs were brought in to stretchers Super Mex out.
Video Package: The Band is reformed at Destination X.
Beer Money Inc. vs. Jeff Hardy & Rob Van Dam

- After match, Eric Young jumps into the ring and grabs a mic, “I just talked to Hulk. Next week, six man tag match, Sean Waltman, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash against me, and my two partners (looks at RVD and Hardy).”
QUICK THOUGHTS:
Even though the opening minute was terrible, the two minutes that followed of Bischoff baiting Jarrett to hit him with the guitar was great! Bischoff just sometimes seems like he would be that kind of boss you just want to beat the shit out of! I’m sad to see that they have to let Foley go after this whole ordeal, but I have a feeling that we’ll be seeing him soon!
Good to see the women get some time to have a match, but what happened to the X-Division..? It’s a damn shame that they can’t involve both because these two divisions haven’t been getting much love lately.
- It was announced that next week on Impact there will be a First Blood match… between Daffney and Tara! You read that right, the women in a First Blood match! I’m excited!
Main event was pretty good. I marked out so much when I saw the finish of the match. I got more excited when EY came out and announced the Six-Man Tag match. I’m hoping so much that The Band gets their asses kicked!
