After last week’s altercation and eventual firing of Mick Foley, how would both Eric Bischoff & Jeff Jarrett respond to one another?  Would there be a truce called or is another confrontation looming?  Find out what happened last night on TNA Impact, right here:

Video Package: Last week, Jeff Jarrett attacks Eric Bischoff with a guitar.  Bischoff gets pissed and puts Jarrett against Mick Foley in a match where the loser is fired… that happened to be Mick Foley.

Earlier in the Day: In the office, Jeff Jarrett and Hulk Hogan are talking.  Hogan apologizes to Jarrett about Bischoff’s actions and acknowledges that Jarrett is over with the fans.  Hulk puts Jarrett in a match tonight against AJ Styles and if he wins, he’ll be the #1 contender after Lockdown.  Jarrett leaves happy.

  • “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal enters and he’s got an idea that maybe while Hulk Hogan is gone (not going to be at the broadcast), he could maybe fill in for him.  Hogan agrees and they seal the deal with the slow-mo, Mega Powers hand shake.

The Band (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & Syxx Pac) comes to the ring with Bubba the Love Sponge.  Bubba gloats about his accolades and who he’s now hanging with.

  • Kevin Nash takes the mic, and wants to apologize to Eric Young because at the PPV it wasn’t personal, it was just business.
  • E.Y. comes out and Nash offers up the apology with an offer to join The Band.  E.Y. says hell no by popping Nash in the mouth with a punch, but eventually the numbers game gets the best of him and a beat down ensues.
  • Rob Van Dam & Jeff Hardy run in to save the day.  Hardy offers to have their 6-man tag match now, but then thinks better of it.  Says, why not make it a ladder match in honor of Lockdown coming soon.

Doug Williams & Brian Kendrick vs. Shannon Moore & Kazarian
WINNERS: Moore & Kaz via pin fall after Moore hit Kendrick with a neck breaker

Backstage: Eric Bischoff’s on the phone (think it’s Hogan) and he says that he’s going to make things work.  Gets off phone and calls for a woman (new assistant), asks her to stop a certain man from coming into the office…

  • Black Machismo walks in (that’s who he meant).  He’s got a clipboard with the card for tonight’s show and it’s all names of a bunch of wrestling legends.
  • Bischoff thinks fast to get Machismo out of his hair, and tells him to think of a main event.  He leaves.  Bischoff tells the assistant to find Beer Money (Inc.) for him.

“Pope” D’Angelo Dinero comes to the ring.  Pope’s looking forward to his title shot at Lockdown against AJ Styles.  “AJ Styles is nothing more than a shadow in the street lights… day break is coming my friend.”  Pope decides to make a prophecy, “Pope is going to take you (Styles) to the outer limits… Pope will be standing in the middle of the ring with the TNA World Championship!”

  • Chelsea (Desmond Wolfe‘s valet) walks to the ring.  She wants Pope to help her with something… she’s trying to seduce him.
  • Pope asks if she knows how to drive stick?
  • She says she’s a quick learner… all the while trying to distract him, as Desmond Wolfe tries to run in from behind to attack Pope.  Didn’t work!  Pope knocks him out of the ring and then plants a kiss on Chelsea.

Video Package: Samoa Joe saying, “They have spoken and the results will be very different!”  (looked like a ransom tape or something)

Orlando Jordan‘s music hits and he falls from the sky via a cable rig.  He makes his way over to a set where there’s a girl and a guy waiting for him to sit down.

Backstage: Jeremy Borash is with Tara who has revenge on her mind in her First Blood Match with Daffney tonight for the Knockout’s Title.  Unfortunately for her, Daffney wants to go right now!  Daffney jumps Tara, but the champion quickly turns the tables on the scream queen slamming her into gear backstage.

First Blood Match – TNA Knockout’s Title
Tara (Champion) vs. Daffney
WINNER: Tara via cutting open Daffney’s head with a tool box

Video Package: Shorter version of the opening sequence with Foley, Jarrett, and Bischoff.

Non-Title Match
Jeff Jarrett vs. AJ Styles with Ric Flair & Chelsea
WINNER: AJ Styles via pin fall after hitting the Styles Clash

  • Referee threw out Ric Flair, but he came back and caused a scene.  Ref took a bump to the outside.  Eric Bischoff came and was going to hit Jarrett with a guitar, but got caught… that’s when Styles took advantage with a low blow.

Backstage: Jeremy Borash with Jeff Hardy, RVD, and Eric Young.  Young thanks them for helping him earlier because it was the right thing to do.  He tells Nash directly, that he knows that Nash is in the business for the wrong reasons!

Backstage: During the commercial break, Jay Lethal grabs Eric Bischoff and tries to pitch a main event idea to him.  Bischoff tells him why not you go out there right now as the main event… I have an opponent for you.  Machismo is game.

“Black Machismo” Jay Lethal vs. Beer Money Inc. (Robert Roode & James Storm)
WINNER: Lethal via roll up pin fall on Robert Roode

  • After the match, Lethal stole Storm’s beer and we see a camera shot of Eric Bischoff who’s pissed!

Video Package:  We see what happened to Hernandez last week in his match against his tag partner Matt Morgan and we get an update on his injured neck.

Desmond Wolfe with Chelsea vs. “Pope” D’Angelo Dinero
WINNER: Wolfe via pin fall after hitting Pope with a chain while Chelsea was distracting referee Earl Hebner with “the goods.”

During the break, the cage for the main event was set up.

Kurt Angle comes to the ring, “Mr. Anderson, ever since you stepped foot in TNA you’ve targeted Kurt Angle… Do you know who I am?  I’m an Olympic champion who wins by playing by the rules… I lost all control because of some things (lists them).  In this cage at Lockdown, it’s you and me… the ending of this match will be my hands, my face covered in your blood!”

  • Mr. Anderson interrupts, “I think it’s about time you and I were damn real.  This rivalry of ours has to end or we’re going to end up killing each other… next week’s Impact there’s a match between me and you, a ladder match.  There’s going to be a key hanging that’ll unlock the cage at Lockdown… The better man won’t win, because you’re the better man, and I’m an asshole… asshole!”

6-Man Cage Match
The Band vs. Jeff Hardy, RVD and Eric Young
WINNERS: Hardy, RVD & E.Y. via pin fall after all three hitting big moves (5-Star Frog Splash, Swanton, and E.Y. hit elbow from off top of cage)

  • Before the bell, The Band jumped opponents and locked E.Y. out of the cage.
  • Mid match, E.Y. finally climbed up the cage, and eventually made his entry for the finish.

Backstage: Christy Hemme is with Abyss who’s ready to name one of his teammates for the Lethal Lockdown match at the Lockdown PPV…  he wants people that are angry and have grudges…

  • In walks Jeff Jarrett!  “I’m proud to be on Hogan’s team!”
  • Abyss says, “Your move Nature Boy!”

QUICK THOUGHTS:

Wasn’t a bad show, but wasn’t an overly great show either.  The segment with Chelsea trying to seduce the Pope so Wolfe could attack him was pointless.  It was merely a time wasting segment.  The same goes for the segment Orlando Jordan.

Machismo beat Beer Money in a handicap match… I know the angle to that was to foil Bischoff’s plans, but that just makes Beer Money look bad in my eyes.  Machismo hasn’t had a match in God knows how long, and the last time we saw him he lost to Tatanka in one of those Invitational matches.  That was just terrible to have him pull the upset there.

I was looking forward to seeing the women in the First Blood Match, but I should’ve known it would’ve been something so minuscule that it was not worth the trouble.  Oh well.

Excited to see the ladder match next week between Angle and Anderson.  Hopefully they let them actually go for 20 minutes!  It could be one hell of a match!

The cage match wasn’t great, but seeing E.Y.’s elbow drop was cool.  Kudos to him for taking that risk on a regular Impact broadcast.
