QUICK THOUGHTS:
Matches were way too short tonight, considering how long the opening segment was and how many damn video packages there were.
Michael McGillicutty looks to be the WWE’s clear cut favorite right now (in the eyes of creative/management). He’s undefeated, and he’s probably got the best overall package when it comes to in ring skill, promo ability, and look. Not taking anything away from Kaval who probably deserves the title of show winner, and is currently #1 in the rankings, but McGillicutty has intensity that is unmatched by anyone on this show, and even Michael Cole mentioned it tonight.
Oh, and before I go, I have to say that the WWE did something really stupid last night, and I hope that they do not continue to do it for the duration of NXT. In singles matches, whoever was accompanying the wrestler to the ring, was able to stand up on the apron. Now can anyone tell me why that makes any sense whatsoever..? Personally, I think it’s distracting as hell, and sometimes the wrestlers get in the way of the camera angles being on the apron. On top of that, it gives them an even easier opportunity to interfere in the match up when the guys go to run the ropes. Let’s keep things simple WWE. If they’re not in the match, let them manage/coach from the floor.
