Abyss to the ring with his weapon and a side of beef. He speaks, “RVD, THEY have a plan for you… It’s beyond extreme tonight, I’m going to share that plan with you…” He introduces us to his girl, the weapon, Janice. He hits the beef with it and then chews on the raw meat. “You’re going to realize RVD, how big of a bitch my girl really is!”
Backstage: Taylor Wilde & Sarita brawling it out, and eventually leads them to the Impact Zone.
Street Fight
Taylor Wilde & Sarita
WINNER: Sarita via ref stoppage after choking out Taylor with someone’s purse straps.
Backstage: RVD walking the hallways. Says that Abyss has a helluva weapon, but he’s not easily intimidated.
Backstage: Eric Bischoff‘s assistant, Miss Tessmacher, is sitting in the office getting pissed off at someone over the phone when Kevin Nash walks in looking for Bischoff. Eric is avoiding him. So instead of getting absolutely pissed, he hits on Miss Tessmacher making a meeting with her for later tonight.
Non-Title, I Quit Match
Brian Kendrick vs. Doug Williams
WINNER: Kendrick via submission after locking on the Cobra Clutch
- Post match, Kevin Nash comes to the ring and Kendrick jaws at him for stealing his thunder. Nash choke slams him. Nash takes a mic and vents his frustrations about Eric Bischoff & Hulk Hogan, and then threatens to take out some of their boys.
- Jeff Jarrett comes out to try to reason with Nash. He then tells Nash that it’s not about them anymore. Jarrett then calls him an egotistical son of a bitch.
- Nash glares… “Why would you be taking up for Hogan & Bischoff? You want trouble with me, you got it!”
Backstage: Nash speaks to camera, trying to figure out why Jeff Jarrett is sticking up for Hogan & Bischoff.
Non-Title Match
Desmond Wolfe with Chelsea vs. Rob Terry vs. Samoa Joe
WINNER: Joe via submission after locking a Rear Naked Choke on Wolfe
- Mid match, Brutus Magnus makes his return and heads to the announce desk.
- Post match, Chelsea’s disappointed with Wolfe, and Joe gives Big Rob a pat on the back essentially saying, nice try.
Backstage: Ric Flair says that he’s going to be making an announcement that’s going to make TNA bigger!
Best of Five Series (1 of 5) – Ladder Match
Beer Money Inc. vs. Motor City Machine Guns (Champions)
WINNERS: Beer Money via retrieving the contract
- Mid match, ref took a bump to the outside. Chris Sabin climbed the ladder and grabbed the contract, but James Storm hit him in the head with his beer bottle and stole the contract. By the time the second referee saw things, the contract was in Storm’s hands. Beer Money gets to pick the stipulation of the next match in the Best of Five.
Backstage: Abyss has repaired his girl (broke it in opening segment), and is now destroying a watermelon.
Matt Morgan vs. “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero
WINNER: Pope via pin fall after hitting a Lung Blower
- Post match, Morgan attacks Pope from behind. He eventually sets up Pope for the boot to the head against the post when Mr. Anderson’s music hits and he gets in the way. Anderson rolls Pope into the ring and invites Morgan in, but then beats up on Morgan.
- Anderson then extends a hand to Pope, but Dinero is unsure, just gives him a little head nod.
Backstage: Lacey Von Erich & Velvet Sky are talking about their issues with Madison Rayne especially over the fact that Madison brought in another member to help her at Victory Road. LVE wants to hear Madison’s side of the stroy, but Velvet wants to put her foot up Madison’s ass!
Madison Rayne is in the ring. She is formally protesting being stripped of the TNA Knockout’s Title. She quotes the stipulation of the match being that if Velvet or Lacey interfered, then she’d be stripped of the title via DQ. She is giving TNA seven days before she sues them.
- Out walk Velvet and Lacey. Velvet calls out Madison for bringing in another member with out asking them about it.
- Madison tells them that she did what she had to do.
- Velvet is pissed because it seems as if Madison doesn’t need them anymore. Madison actually admits it!
- Lacey tries to get in between them, and Velvet threatens to kick her ass right now!
- The NEW Knockout’s Champion, Angelina Love, comes to the ramp and claims they are the worst actors of all time.
- Velvet claims the biker chick is NOT her, and then leaves Angelina to have Madison all to herself. Cat fight breaks out between them, and the biker chick rides to ring side and then attacks Angelina. Madison hits Angelina with a DDT on a chair.
Backstage: Jeff Hardy speaks highly of the Jay Lethal vs. Ric Flair match from Victory Road, but tonight Lethal has to face him, one-on-one, tonight.
Jay Lethal vs. Jeff Hardy
WINNER: Hardy via pin fall after hitting a Swanton
- Mid match, ECW guys (Tommy Dreamer, Stevie Richards, Raven & Rhino) take seat in the crowd.
Ric Flair to the ring with AJ Styles & Kazarian. Flair’s announcement is that they are the first two members of his new faction, Fortune.
- Desmond Wolfe comes out to the ring to complain to Flair about being in the group.
- Abyss comes out with his girl, and Fortune runs for the hills. Abyss calls RVD to the ring. Abyss shares the plans THEY have for him… “When THEY get here THEY are taking over… THEY have instructed me to get the TNA Title off of you… We’re going to take my girl Janice, and hang her 15 feet in the air, and we’re going to have the most extreme match in the history of pro wrestling.. The only thing left is when/where…”
- RVD takes the mic, “I know what this title means… This is mine…” Brawl breaks out. RVD takes the early advantage, but Abyss turns it around and then goes for Janice.
- Mick Foley appears on the ramp and it distracts Abyss momentarily. During that time span, the ECW guys jump the rail and attack Abyss. TNA security and some TNA superstars come out to break things up, but the brawl gets bigger. Some of the road agents, D-Lo Brown & Al Snow, come out and start fighting with TNA stars. Brother Devon comes out and doesn’t hit a single person that “used to be in ECW.”
- Jeff Jarrett comes to the ramp and tries to cool people’s jets, to no avail. The police are even sent to the ring.
- Dixie Carter is shown, and she jumps the rail and takes a mic. She calls for them to stop, and that she invited them… Jarrett looks perplexed.
QUICK THOUGHTS:
I’m not shocked to see that Abyss is the #1 contender. He’s going on a rampage right now, and he’s not looking like he’s going to stop until he destroys RVD and takes home the TNA World Title.
The tag team ladder match was the match of the night. Ultimately that was a PPV quality match on regular TV. I’m really excited that TNA is going to start taking a tag team rivalry seriously now. The Guns and Beer Money can work, and they know what it takes to get over with a crowd. Ultimately, this rivalry will be one of the highlights for Impact shows in the coming months.
I also have to say that the Street Fight between Taylor Wilde & Sarita was great!!! I love watching women go hardcore. It seems like sometimes the women get treated like little flowers when it comes to being on TV, and I’m glad that TNA is growing a set again and allowing them to get a little crazy in hardcore type fashion.
The ending of the show was very chaotic, and somewhat of a cluster f**k. It’s almost as if all of the ECW guys are going to band together in an “invasion” sort of angle. The telling sign was when Brother Devon walked out and didn’t hit a single person from the former ECW, including the TNA World Champion RVD. I just don’t know why Dixie Carter is getting involved in the story line though… The last thing I want to see is now that Hogan/Bischoff are slowly phasing themselves out of the day to day story lines is Dixie phasing herself in.
