After the major announcement last week by Dixie Carter that the TNA Hard Justice PPV will now be called Hardcore Justice and that it will be booked by Tommy Dreamer how would the weeks leading up to the show go down, and how would the TNA roster respond to the situation?  Find out what went down right here:

The ECW Originals are in the ring (Tommy Dreamer, Mick Foley, Raven, Stevie Richards, Brother Devon & Rhino)  Dreamer takes the mic and hypes the crowd about Hardcore Justice.  He informs the fans that because of some legal stuff, they’re going to call themselves EV2.0.  Dreamer welcomes Devon to the group and asks him what’s up with Brother Ray.

  • Devon still really doesn’t know, so he calls his brother out to the ring.  Ray comes to the ramp.  Devon says, “We’ve had our differences, but this (ECW Originals) is our family… Are you in or are you out?”  (Ray starts walking away)
  • Dreamer takes the mic back and tries to be the voice of reason actually using a KISS reunion concert as an analogy for their return at Hardcore Justice.
  • Mick Foley takes the mic and says, “With or without you, we’re going to have one hardcore show, but it’ll be a little bit better with your participation… If you don’t, you’re going to regret it later.  (Ray looks conflicted)
  • Taz then stands up at the desk and tells Ray, “Just do it man!”
  • Ray gets into the ring and takes the mic.  He goes face to face with Devon and asks, “Are we going to light someone on fire? (With a big grin!)”  Devon nods.  “Then hell, sounds like a lot of fun!  I’m in!”  They embrace.
  • Interrupted by Hulk Hogan who’s excited to see these guys all together again.  During the 90s he didn’t get to see the hardcore revolution because he was running around with a black beard, ruling his world.  Tells them that he and Eric Bischoff have a surprise for them later tonight.
  • Interrupted by “The Monster” Abyss who says that “THEY are not happy about this… This reunion wasn’t supposed to happen and they hold one person responsible, you, Dixie Carter!”
  • Hulk stands up for Dixie and suggests that Abyss takes the time to find a shrink.
  • Abyss says that he’s got orders from THEM to take Tommy Dreamer out tonight.  Hulk’s not willing to let that happen, but Dreamer steps up and says that if Dixie and Hulk will allow him, he’ll do it for the fans!

Backstage: Lacey Von Erich trying to reason with Velvet Sky about the whole situation with Madison Rayne and that they need to go back to being on the same page.

  • In walks Madison who says that she wants to get back to where they were, dominating the Knockout’s Division.  Velvet is still pissed about her going behind their backs and bringing in another member without their help.
  • Madison pleads with her as the voice of reason, and even though Velvet is upset, they decide to bury the hatchet.

#1 Contenders Match – Knockout’s Title
Angelina Love vs. Sarita
WINNER: Love via pin fall after hitting the Botox Injection (Pump Kick)

Backstage: Eric Young trying to find something that he and his new partner, Orlando Jordan, can wear out to the ring to match.  OJ is pissed off that EY is fooling around.  (EY acting like crazy/random EY of old)  EY tells OJ that he’s got some backup for them tonight.

Video Package: Two weeks ago, Eric Young suffered a head injury in a match against Suicide, and hasn’t been the same since.

Ink Inc. vs. Orlando Jordan & Eric Young (with a mannequin as backup)
WINNERS: Ink Inc via pin fall after hitting Jordan with the Mooregasm

  • Mid match, EY claims the mannequin was tagged and throws it in the ring at Shannon Moore.  The limbs break off.  This causes a distraction for Jordan and Ink Inc take advantage.
  • Post match, EY puts up the medical hand signal for the EMTs to tend to the mannequin… They don’t come down.

Ric Flair to the ring with AJ Styles, Kazarian & Beer Money Inc.  Flair calls out Jay Lethal saying that next week he gets his rematch, and that it’s going to be a street fight.  He then turns his attention to his faction, Fortune, and Beer Money are the next members of the group.

  • Robert Roode tells Ric that he knew it was only a matter of time because they’re the best tag team in the business today, and when they beat the Motor City Machine Guns tonight, they’ll be the FOUR time TNA Tag Team Champions.
  • Kazarian chimes in that they are the best four wrestlers in the “TNA Galaxy!”
  • AJ Styles adds that he’s going to bring respect back to his newly won TNA Global Title.  He tells the world that he’s changing the name of it to the Television Title so that no matter where he is, if it’s on Impact or PPV, the belt will be showcased.  He tells Rob Terry (former champion) that if he can beat Kazarian tonight, he’ll get his rematch.
  • Flair leaves us by commenting that they’re going to be at the hotel tonight and try to get the women to come on down.
  • Interrupted by Kurt Angle who eyeballs AJ Styles, the next person above him in the Top 10 Rankings.  Angle says that he’s happy that AJ wants to bring respect back to the belt, but he’s in his way for the TNA World Title.

TNA Tag Team Championship Series (3 of 5) – Cage Match
Motor City Machine Guns (Champions) vs. Beer Money Inc.
WINNERS: Guns via pin fall after hitting a Neckbreaker/Crossbody combo (Beer Money up 2-1)

  • Mid match, James Storm tries to hit Guns with beer bottle again, but instead hits his partner by accident.

Mr. Anderson‘s music hits, but out walks Matt Morgan who comes to the ring and introduces himself, mocking Anderson’s delivery style.

  • Out walks Anderson who takes exception.  Morgan then says that Anderson can take a free shot, sticks out his jaw and closes his eyes.  Anderson punches him in the nuts!  Anderson jaws at him, and Morgan fights back.  He tries to choke Anderson out with the microphone cord.
  • Jeff Hardy runs down to help Anderson.  TNA Security comes out to stop Hardy/Anderson and allows Morgan a few cheap shots on them.  TNA road agents come down and give security an earful for being too physical with the talent.

Backstage: Christy Hemme is with Hardy/Anderson.  They challenge the wash out wrestlers turned security guards and Matt Morgan to a match.

Kazarian vs. Rob Terry
WINNER: Terry via pin fall after hitting the Freak Buster

  • AJ Styles came out to the ring with Kazarian, but the referee promptly sent him to the back.  Match lasted 10 seconds.

Matt Morgan & TNA Security Guards (Murphy/Gunner) vs. Jeff Hardy & Mr. Anderson
WINNERS: Hardy/Anderson via pin fall after a Mic Check followed up with a Swanton

  • Mid match, Morgan bails on his partners and heads to the back.

Backstage: Christy Hemme catches up with Hulk Hogan asking about Eric Bischoff’s announcement and if he can give a little hint.  Hulk just says that the people are going to love it.

Eric Bischoff is in the ring with his assistant, Ms. Tessmacher.  He tells everyone that on August 12th at 9pm eastern time, we’re going to see something never seen before… PPV quality on Impact, and the main event is…

  • Interrupted by Abyss who was told by THEM to make the main event.  He says that his idea involves himself, a 15 foot ladder, Rob Van Dam, and his girl (weapon) Janice… He says that they’re going to have the most extreme match ever and THEY’ve told him that Bischoff is the only person who can make it happen.  He threatens Bischoff, so he says yes.  Abyss then grabs Janice to threaten Bischoff some more and RVD comes out with a chair to fight off Abyss.
  • Eventually Abyss turns it around, and the TNA road agents have to come out again to save RVD.

Extreme Rules Match
Tommy Dreamer vs. Abyss
WINNER: Abyss via pin fall after Choke Slamming Dreamer into a barb wire board

  • Post match, Abyss takes Janice, but Raven comes out with a chair.  We think that he’s going to save Dreamer, but instead he attacks Dreamer.  Abyss looks puzzled.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

Once again the Guns and Beer Money steal the show and this time it was inside the steel cage!  Great match.  Roode was a bloody mess.  The series continues next week since the Guns won, and it’s going to be an Ultimate X match!!!

Glad that Team 3D put their differences aside to come together for Hardcore Justice, but then at the end of the show, one of the EV2.0 guys, Raven, turns on Tommy Dreamer… I’m guessing that means they’re going to square off at the PPV..?

I can’t help but love to watch the old hardcore Abyss come back!  That was one of the reasons why I enjoyed watching Abyss in the first place, and it’s great to see him back to his old tricks.  I’m looking forward to the ladder match between he and RVD on Aug. 12th.
