WWE NXT – 8/3/10

After last week’s elimination, and another one coming next week, the NXT Rookies are once again out to impress the WWE Pros and the WWE Universe.  Which rookie takes one step closer to their dream of becoming the WWE’s next breakout star?  Find out right here:

Video Package: Last week’s elimination.  Eli Cottonwood was sent packing, but he flew off the handle before he left and started a brawl.

Matt Striker is in the ring and he welcomes the remaining rookies to the ring.  Striker addresses the brawl from last week and then turns the microphone over to LayCool to host the next challenge which is a kissing competition.

• LayCool wants to find the guy with all the right attributes when it comes to kissing and tease them by saying they’re going to be the ones they kiss, but it was a ploy.  Out walks an overweight woman with what looks like sores on her face for the NXT Rookies to make out with.

• Each rookie struggles to muster the courage to kiss the woman.  Kaval hits the jackpot as Layla “takes one for the team” and plants a kiss on him, but he’s still forced to kiss the woman.
• Winner of the challenge is Lucky Cannon as chosen by the woman.  The prize is announced as a bunch of mouth diseases including “cooties.”

Video Package: The Miz comments on Michael McGillicutty following in his “daddy’s footsteps.”

Backstage: Ashley Valence is with Michael McGillicutty & Kofi Kingston.  She asks about the Miz’s comments.  McGillicutty says that Miz is pathetic and challenges him to a match.

• Interview is interrupted by Lucky Cannon & Mark Henry.  Lucky says that if anyone is going to take on the Miz it’s him because he’s got issues with him too.  They start to argue.
• Miz on the stage chimes in and says they should fight each other and maybe he’ll face the winner.
• Kofi Kingston tells the Miz that he should “put his money where his mouth is and square off with the winner, tonight!”  (In a Jar Jar Binks voice)
• Miz gets pissed at him and reluctantly agrees.

WINNER: McGillicutty via pin fall after hitting the McGillicutter (Swinging Neckbreaker)

Matt Striker is on the stage and he asks the WWE Pros who they think has been the worst pro so far:

• Kofi Kingston says LayCool because “Kaval is the closest thing he’s ever seen to a ninja, and they forced him to wear a pink snuggie for the first part of the competition.”
• LayCool picks Kofi because of his comment about them.
• Mark Henry picks Zack Ryder because his rookie was first out.
• Cody Rhodes says Kofi Kingston because he’s going to defeat him and take the Intercontinental Title away.
• Zack Ryder gets interrupted by the Miz who say all of them are the worst.

QUICK THOUGHTS:

DAMMIT!!! I was hoping that the Miz would lose to McGillicutty!  Well, I guess that means he’s not “perfect” like his daddy!

I’m glad Husky Harris got another win.  It just sucks that now it’s two straight over Kaval.  I don’t want to see either of them go.
