Recently, we had two conflicting reports on whether CM Punk was offered a deal by TNA. No one still knows what is true about that.
Well, it’s about to happen again. However, this time, it’s regarding when Daniel Bryan could return to WWE from his injuries.
First, there’s Brad Davis of SEScoops that says Daniel Bryan may be getting Tommy John surgery that would keep him out for awhile. He went as far as saying that the leader of the Yes movement might not wrestle again.
"The latest as of Monday night is that Bryan is seeing no improvement with his arm. Backstage at RAW from Atlanta, a lot of the talent was talking about the fact Bryan may be getting the “Tommy John Surgery.”The medical term for the procedure is as ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) reconstruction, a surgical graft procedure in which the ulnar collateral ligament in the medial elbow is replaced with a tendon from elsewhere in the body”. (WebMD)The typical recovery for Tommy John Surgery is 6-12 months depending on the physical activity the athlete is involved in.It is still not known if he will ever wrestle again, as this injury prevents him from being cleared to wrestle. WWE’s creative team is still working under the assumption that Bryan won’t be back in action any time soon and are not factoring him into any creative plans."
Then, there’s Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline that said the following:
"It does not look like Daniel Bryan will be returning at the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble after all.Dave Meltzer noted on last night’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Bryan is still not regaining strength in his arm and word once again is that he will likely need surgery.Bryan was trying to have the other surgery back in August but doctors said that he might not need it. Bryan wanted to go ahead and get surgery out of the way so he could return.Meltzer added that it’s no longer looking like Bryan will be back for the Rumble, but he might be back in time for WrestleMania 31."
Once again, we do not know what is true because either someone is giving false information or they received some bad inside information from their source.
It would be a shame if Bryan has to undergo Tommy John surgery. He is missed greatly right now on the WWE roster, as he was one of the few stars that could get the crowd on their feet and cheer for him. Not only that, but the lack of top babyfaces isn’t working out so well, either. They have had Dean Ambrose and John Cena controlling the top, but there aren’t many top, healthy options below them.
On the bright side, if Bryan returns for WrestleMania season, he would definitely upgrade the card. While there would be the question of who he would feud with, his presence and wrestling ability would create a terrific spot on the show.
Let’s just hope we get some truth on this situation so we don’t have to keep guessing.
