John Cena vs. Rusev

The seeds were planted for this match on the Royal Rumble Fallout show. An irate Rusev crashed John Cena’s interview and the two started trading words. This match was originally speculated way back in September.

This seems like a clone of the feud from last year between Cena and Bray Wyatt. It was the company man vs. the rising star who had barely lost in WWE. Cena eventually beat Wyatt at WrestleMania XXX and won their feud in a best two out of three series. This cost the Eater of Worlds a lot of momentum, which he finally began to get back when he returned at the Hell in a Cell PPV.

Rusev has not lost in WWE since coming up from NXT last April, so Cena may be used to bring him back down to earth.

The build-up for this should be refreshing and fun, though. This will obviously be Rusev’s toughest opponent, so it will really put him to the test to see how he can perform with the big guys. If he succeeds, he could be a mainstay on top of the heel division of the roster for years to come.
