Neville looks to gain momentum for his title defense against Gentleman Jack Gallagher when he takes on TJ Perkins on this week’s episode of 205 Live
This past Monday night on RAW, WWE announced that the WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville would take on the inaugural champion TJ Perkins this week on 205 Live. Last week on 205 Live Perkins just missed out at earning an opportunity at a Cruiserweight Championship. In a Fatal 5 Way Number 1 Contender’s Match, TJ Perkins was among the last 2 before being pinned by Jack Gallagher. Since Neville has joined the Cruiserweight Division the show itself has been gaining some momentum and a match between these two could certainly continue the great string of shows.

Tonight will also see the 205 Live debut of the CWC runner-up, Gran Metalik.
Noam Dar with Alicia Fox vs Rich Swann
Result: Rich Swann defeated Noam Dar via pinfall
Rating: 2.5 out of 5 Stars
Rich Swann is back. It would’ve been nice for WWE to promote the former Cruiserweight Champion’s return from injury. Before the match, Rich Swann dedicates the match to Alicia Fox. Swann got off to a hot start until he was caught up on the top rope by Dar. Dar would go on to slow the pace down and take control of the match. The momentum would go back to Swann following a roundhouse kick. Swann would control the majority of the match from here on out. It appears Swann may have a new finisher as he picked up the victory with a Phoenix Splash from the middle rope.
Something new here on 205 Live, Corey Graves introduces both TJ Perkins and Neville for a split screen interview on the titantron. Good back and forth from both men here. Neville points out that while TJP had to compete against 31 other men to win the Cruiserweight Champion Perkins has never beat Neville. Perkins responds by citing Neville’s ankle injury that kept him out of the CWC. Perkins ask Neville if he was even on Raw before he ushered in new Cruiserweight Division. An irate Neville would go on to say that TJ Perkin will go on to regret those words following their match.

Another Gran Metalik video package airs right before the match.
Gran Metalik vs Drew Gulak
Result: Gran Metalik defeated Drew Gulak via pinfall
Rating: 2.2 out of 5 Stars
On paper, this matchup is a clash of styles. Metalik wrestles a Lucha Libre style whereas Gulak is more of a ground and pound technical wrestler. Not a great start for the debuting luchador as he botches a springboard move a few moments into the match. This was more of a showcase match than as squash match as Gulak was able to get quite a bit of offense in but ultimately Metalik picks up the win with the Metalik Driver.
The Brian Kendrick is backstage talking to his “protege” Akira Tozawa. Kendrick officially offers his mentorship to Tozawa. Tozawa quickly says no. Kendrick was under the impression that Tozawa didn’t speak English and asked if he understood to which Tozawa replied “I understand. I don’t like you.”

Neville vs TJ Perkins
Result: Neville defeated TJ Perkins via submission
Rating: 3.0 out of 5 Stars
Austin Aries, perhaps the most quotable person in WWE today, refers to TJ Perkins as “Teddy Joystick”. Neville starts off the match in a dominant fashion as he has lately. Neville dumps TJP to the outside and continues his work there. Neville elevates Perkins and drops him on the barricade. The tables start to turn when TJ Perkins avoids a top rope attack and follows it up with a neckbreaker. Perkins starts going to work and Neville’s arm and locks in an armbar. Neville, in an incredible feat of strength, deadlifts Perkins and executes a sit-out powerbomb. Neville regains control of the match when he catches Perkins from the top rope. Moments later Neville is able to lock in the double arm bar to pick up a submission win.
After the match, Jack Gallagher is out to the ring where the challenger and champion have a brief altercation. Gallagher is able to get the upper hand with a series of uppercuts and a headbutt.
