When is Finn Balor Returning to WWE?

Finn Balor’s WWE return may be coming very soon.

Finn Balor has been out of action since the night after WWE SummerSlam 2016 with a shoulder injury. He suffered this during the inaugural WWE Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins. This led to Balor’s win, but him being forced to relinquish the title on the post-Raw.

Since then, the closest thing to an update on Balor’s health has been him posting photos on Twitter. He had targetted a WrestleMania 33 return back in December.

Well, it seems this plan may not have been so crazy. WWE is advertising the Demon King’s return for the March 10 WWE live event in Buffalo, NY. He’s also set for events on March 11 and 26. These could always be non-physical appearances, but it’s a positive sign for him potentially returning to WWE before the Show of Shows.

Before Balor’s injury, he had been on Raw for one month, having been called up during the 2016 WWE Draft. His presence could be needed with Chris Jericho potentially taking a hiatus after WrestleMania, and Seth Rollins’ recent injury. As of February 17, Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn are the top, full-time babyfaces on the Flagship Show.

If the former NXT champion can return before WrestleMania, he may have a difficult time finding a spot on the match card. If the Wrestling Observer’s rumored slate of bouts is any indication, there may not be a singles match for him available. The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is always an option, however. So is a spot in a multi-man ladder match for a title, if WWE goes that route again.
