Diamond Dallas Page Announced for WWE Hall of Fame 2017 Class
Diamond Dallas Page will become part of the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class this spring.
About six weeks ago, we noted a PW Insider report on Diamond Dallas Page set to be included in the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. However, WWE never made this official, as Kurt Angle, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, and Teddy Long have all been announced for the upcoming induction class.
Well, that changed on Monday afternoon when Rolling Stone and WWE announced Page as part of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017. In the Rolling Stone piece, DDP commented where being in the hall of fame compares to winning world titles:
"It surpasses everything. I remember Dusty Rhodes saying to me, “In our business, the things that are really real are your first world title and the Hall of Fame.” I would love for him to be here. I get choked up just thinking about it."
Page is known for his time in WCW from 1991-2001, becoming a mainstay during the company’s Monday Night War with WWE in the late 90’s. He won three WCW World Heavyweight Championships and was one of the most popular babyfaces they had, especially when the nWo dominated Monday Nitro for a number of years.

In 2001, DDP departed for WWE after WCW was bought out by Vince McMahon. He stayed there until 2002, winning the European and Tag Team Championships.
Since then, the Master of the Diamond Cutter has returned to WWE on special one-off appearances. This includes the 2015 Royal Rumble match and to induct wrestling personalities into the WWE Hall of Fame, which he’ll now join.
