Matt and Jeff Hardy Win ROH Tag Team Titles at Manhattan Mayhem (Video)
ROH was surprisingly invaded by Matt and Jeff Hardy on Saturday night, which saw them leave their mark.
Matt and Jeff Hardy had been rumored by Pro Wrestling Sheet to be in talks with WWE. It had been going well too, but could what happened on Saturday night spell what’s to come for them?
At Ring of Honor’s Manhattan Mayhem event, the Hardys appeared and faced the Young Bucks for the ROH World Tag Team Championship. It was a surprise after the WWE rumor, but not completely since they had already been set for ROH’s Supercard of Honor show in early April.
Well, Saturday night proved to be a productive one for the Hardys. They defeated the Young Bucks, or the “Bucks of Youth,” as they call them, for the ROH World Tag Team Championship.
Afterward, Matt cut a promo, calling TNA “dreaded” and getting a few NSFW chants out of the crowd.
Like Jason Solomonster notes below, if the WWE rumors are true, it’s difficult to believe that Matt and Jeff are sticking around after April 1, which is the date of Supercard of Honor. Their appearance at this WrestleMania Weekend show had been planned for months, which an appearance at ROH Final Battle 2016 first kicking off the build in December.
Expect the Hardys to be at the ROH 15th Anniversary Show, which takes place on March 10. They’ll likely defend their ROH World Tag Team Championship and give this show an even bigger feel. It already has Adam Cole vs. Christopher Daniels set, among other matches.
