The latest member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017 will be ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude.

The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017 has steadily been coming together for the past month. It started with Kurt Angle receiving the headliner spot to honor his illustrious WWE career. Following him would be the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Teddy Long, Diamond Dallas Page and Beth Phoenix.

Well, the latest member has been announced by Bleacher Report and WWE to be ‘Ravishing’ Rick Rude. He’ll be inducted by Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat at this year’s event. Steamboat commented with the following in Bleacher Report’s article:

"“If you looked at all the boxes you would check to make a main event guy that would go down in history as one of the best, Rude checked all the boxes,” Steamboat told Bleacher Report. “He was an all-around package. He looked good, he could play the part, he knew what to do. He could take great bumps, feed the babyface when it was time to feed, and he would never run out of gas.”"

Rude and Steamboat’s history dates back to the 1980’s and early 1990’s, including at the first-ever Royal Rumble event. They became rivals in this period of wrestling, leading to this choice to induct the Ravishing Superstar.

During Rude’s time in WWE, he captured the WWF Intercontinental Championship. He also won titles in promotions like World Class Championship Wrestling, the Continental Wrestling Association, and was a three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

Toward the latter part of Rude’s career, he famously appeared in WWE and WCW on the same night. This was when the former was taped, while WCW ran Monday Nitro live.
