One of WWE’s biggest rivalries heading into WrestleMania 33 is between Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens. Here’s why Y2J could leave Orlando victorious.

Going into WrestleMania 33, Chris Jericho is in the middle of a career resurgence in WWE. He recently captured the United States Championship for the first time in his career. He’s also consistently been one of the most entertaining parts of Monday Night Raw for the better part of a year.

But for all his recent success and triumph, Jericho is coming off the biggest letdown of his career – and maybe even his life. Following what was to be a celebration of friendship, Y2J was viciously assaulted. The perpetrator? His supposed best friend, Kevin Owens.

For everything that Jericho and Owens accomplished together, the betrayal was that much worse. For that reason, Jericho not only cost Owens the Universal Championship at WWE Fastlane, but demanded a chance to settle the score at WrestleMania 33. Owens agreed, provided the US Title was on the line.

With so much animosity existing between the two competitors, the bout at WrestleMania is sure to be fiercely contested. Both men want revenge, but for vastly different reasons. And with the United States Championship on the line, the stakes couldn’t be much higher than they are right now.

On the other side is a vicious competitor who has no problem stabbing his friends in the back if it means more success for him and his family. It’s a pretty even contest.
