WWE Bad Blood PPV Returning: Date, Location and Brand Confirmed
WWE is bringing back an old pay-per-view from the Attitude Era days with Bad Blood. When will it take place?
WWE’s return of the brand split brought back pay-per-view names that had become defunct. This includes Backlash and No Mercy, both of which belonged to SmackDown in the fall of 2016. The Elimination Chamber was even brought back, but that had only been gone for 21 months. They’re actually bringing back another PPV from the past, however. This time, it will be Bad Blood.
Wrestling Inc reported that this was made official to the live crowd at Tuesday’s SmackDown Live taping. The event will take place on Sunday, July 9 at the XL Center in Hartford, CT. It will be the venue’s first PPV since 2004.
As for the brand that’s hosting Bad Blood, it will be Raw. SmackDown is hosting Money in the Bank in June, so this could go hand-in-hand.
Bad Blood is the second old school PPV to be brought back for Raw. They had Clash of Champions, a former WCW show, in September, and then Hell in a Cell, Roadblock and Fastlane, all of which existed before the brand split.
The irony of this show returning is WWE no longer intentionally using blood on TV. Does that mean we’ll see someone get “busted open” in July? Who knows, but it at least gives an edgy name to the show.
The last Bad Blood event to take place was in 2004. It featured Triple H defeating Shawn Michaels in a Hell in a Cell match that went for nearly one hour, Randy Orton vs. Shelton Benjamin and Trish Stratus winning the WWE Women’s Championship.

Bad Blood is still four months away, but could be an interesting show for Raw, however the brand looks after WrestleMania 33, injuries and a potential WWE Draft. Are you glad to see this back?
