Starting last January, WWE began the process of unveiling the WWE Hall of Fame 2017 class. Former Rutgers standout football player Eric LeGrand is slated to receive the Warrior Award.

The highlight of the night will most certainly be the return of Kurt Angle. Angle is returning to the WWE for the first time since his departure in 2006. In the spirits of good press, Eric LeGrand receiving the Warrior award will be a significant national hit for WWE.

LeGrand is the former Rutgers football player that suffered a spinal cord injury during a game in 2010 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. LeGrand has since become a motivational speaker. LeGrand’s charity, Team LeGrand, is a branch of the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation. The foundation helps raise funds for research towards a possible cure for paralysis.
