Which Raw Superstar Will Challenge the Olympic Hero?
As a lifelong fan of Kurt Angle, words cannot describe just how awesome it was to see him back inside a WWE ring. Becoming the Raw General Manager is a huge step for the veteran, and it may lead to him actually competing in the near future. Until that time though, we’re going to have to make due with his tenure as the authority on the Flagship show. Monday promises to be a tough night considering the Super Shake-Up will begin, but that might not be the only reason why.
As we’ve seen in the past, most personalities on WWE programming have someone to feud with. The authority figures are no exception, with the former GM Mick Foley having his fair share of words with Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman. Stephanie McMahon feuds with arguably half of the available Raw roster, and it’s a testament to her creative pull that she wins most of the verbal exchanges.
Looking at the current roster, there is only one name that makes sense for Angle to rival with. The choice by far is the former NXT Champion; Samoa Joe. These two men have history dating back years, stemming from when Angle made his debut on TNA television. That history will likely be avoided on WWE’s end, but they may still mention their feud isn’t new.
Presenting a feud that has an air of legitimacy is a surefire way to keep fans drawn into what could happen next. Since Joe is also a favorite of Triple H and Stephanie, his involvement could set up a nice authority angle. Perhaps this is what will lead the Olympic Hero back into the squared circle? Just a thought.
