Shinsuke Nakamura’s Goodbye
We all knew this was coming, after Nakamura debuted on the SmackDown Live after WrestleMania 33. It had been the last chance for him to appear at Full Sail University, saying goodbye to the fans he competed for, for the past year.
Nakamura talked about already being a champion in Japan when he came to NXT. He says he joined here to face the “best in the world,” calling NXT his home.
Nakamura called the NXT Universe “crazy,” in one of the biggest understatements of the year. He says he’ll always be NXT, and gets everyone to say “We are NXT.”
Afterward, the NXT roster appeared on stage to celebrate this moment with the King of Strong Style. It felt just a tad more genuine than your main roster calling-of-all-talents thing.
Oh, and this happened:
An incredibly promising episode of WWE NXT, which previewed the future. Riot and McIntyre had quality debuts, while he had the arrival of Dylan Miley, who has monster heel written all over him. Black followed up his TakeOver showing with more greatness, too.
