4 Predictions for WWE SmackDown Live: May 9, 2017

A Six-Woman Tag Match on the Horizon
Tired of being passed up for opportunities, the trio of Carmella, Natalya, and Tamina Snuka have decided to take action. Putting the SmackDown Live Women’s Division on notice, the women have already taken down some of the biggest names on the Blue Brand. Committed to establishing themselves as top-tier superstars, the group known as the “Welcoming Committee” is beginning to do just that.
Before the trio is able to solidify their legacies, they’re going to contend with some tough challenges along the way. The current crop of talent isn’t going to just stand aside and let their reign of dominance begin. Thus far, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Naomi have all stood up to the new threat. Although they’ve failed to put an end to their conquest, the fact of the matter is there have always been superior numbers.
The next time these six women confront each other, it’ll be the first time that the two sides are dead even in terms of size. How will the Welcoming Committee fair now that their numbers don’t give them an edge? With two weeks of build-up potentially in the works, the feud has a chance of enticing fans. There are a lot of different elements and personalities at play here, but if done right it can benefit everyone involved.
Once the feud concludes, the fate of the Women’s Championship will be decided as well. Since she’s preoccupied with others challenges, Naomi seems to have defending the title on the lower list of priorities. This doesn’t mean she wouldn’t do so (in fact she’s a fighting champion), but I don’t see it occurring until a proper contender is established.
