Raw returns stateside this week after the European Tour. The spotlight was on the Intercontinental Championship, as Dean Ambrose defended against The Miz.

Previously on WWE Raw, the company was on one of its semi-regular tours of Europe. Both Raw and SmackDown Live took place in London – without an old-timey phone booth or bobby car on the stage!

Last week, Dean Ambrose and The Miz served as co-GMs in Kurt Angle’s absence. Of course, they tried to one-up each other by placing the other into matches. Both competitors ended up falling short – though Ambrose had to deal with interference from The A-Lister. This week, Ambrose defended the Intercontinental Championship against The Miz. After their run-ins the past few weeks, tensions were high heading into the match. Who left Newark with the title?

In other news last week, Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns returned after a vicious encounter at Payback. Both men were clearly still feeling the effects of that match, but couldn’t resist the chance to throw down. Somewhat surprisingly, Reigns got the upper hand, further injuring The Monster Among Men. Now Braun is going to be out of action for up to six months. What’s next for Reigns in Braun’s absence?

There’s still some life in a pair of feuds that seemingly ended at Payback. Cesaro and Sheamus ran the gauntlet in a Tag Team Turmoil match last week, becoming number one contenders for the Tag Team Titles – and the Hardy Boyz – once again. And Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins just can’t seem to quit each other. Did these rivalries boil over again this week?
