CM Punk hasn’t worked a wrestling match since the 2014 Royal Rumble, but someone just offered him a huge deal to compete again.

CM Punk had been one of WWE’s top stars, before bolting after the 2014 Royal Rumble Match. He hasn’t returned to the wrestling ring since, instead competing in the UFC in September 2016. This ended quickly for the Straight Edge Star, losing a fight to Mickey Gall.

Punk hasn’t fought since, but his name floats around on occasion. It did so again on Thursday, with a report from The Sun. This stated that Daniels Hinkles, who is a promoter for 5 Star Wrestling, is offering $1 million for the 38-year-old compete in a 128-man tournament the promotion is hosting in June.

In the article, Hinkles said he’s been pursuing Punk for “well over a year,” going all the way back to a 2015 show. The offer was also called “genuine,” as the promotion wants to have the former WWE Champion appear soon.

Hinkles gave some praise to Punk, along with how ambitious 5 Star Wrestling is:

"We are hugely ambitious. When we ask the fans who they want to see, CM Punk’s name is on everybody’s wish list and we’re willing to spend big to make it happen. I know he is seemingly focused on MMA at the moment and this wouldn’t have to end that, but wrestling is in his blood and $1 million has to be worth thinking about.”"

Will Punk actually take the offer? Well, if he hasn’t considered them since being spoken to in 2015, it doesn’t seem like it. Of course, money talks and $1 million could do the trick. However, there hasn’t been any indication in the media of Punk looking to return to a wrestling ring.

If this return happens, it will surely shake up wrestling for one night. Punk competing again has seemed like something that would never happen again, especially with his MMA aspirations. So it would be surreal to see, to say the least.

We’ll see if Punk makes a public response to this offer. Chances are he doesn’t do anything with it, though, if these past three years are any indication.
