Tommaso Ciampa vs Johnny Gargano

You may have heard, but in case you missed it, Tommaso Ciampa turned on Johnny Gargano. This one was on the Festival of Friendship level of heart-wrenching. What made it worse was the moments before where it seemed like the two were on the same page and embraced in the ring following the loss to AOP. Speaking of the Festival of Friendship, here’s this tweet from Johnny Gargano when Kevin Owens turned on Chris Jericho.

Obviously, this has to lead to a match and what place better to do it than the Barclays Center at TakeOver. The build to this should be rather interesting. I expect that Gargano will be off TV for at least a few weeks as he was taken off on a stretcher after a hellacious Ladder Match an even more brutal beatdown. The two have faced off in the past as recent in the Cruiserweight Classic. If this match is anything like the CWC match it’ll be a great one.

Is there a chance of it even main eventing TakeOver? That will depend on a few things, but the personal grudge of this program may be there when August arrives.
