What time will the 2017 WWE Backlash pay-per-view begin?

WWE Backlash will be the only WWE pay-per-view that takes place in May, besides Saturday’s NXT TakeOver: Chicago show. It will allow for SmackDown Live‘s Superstars to take center stage in front of what should be a raucous, CM Punk-chanting Allstate Arena crowd.

Backlash is the Blue Brand’s first exclusive show since February’s Elimination Chamber. This saw Naomi win the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Alexa Bliss, as well as Bray Wyatt capturing his first-ever WWE Championship win. He defeated five other Superstars in the Elimination Chamber Match to pull this off.

Three-plus months laters, the top title is on the line again, except Randy Orton will be defending it. This is the first time Orton has done this since WrestleMania 33, where he defeated Wyatt for the belt. Jinder Mahal will be the challenger, looking for his first-ever title win in WWE.

The WWE United States Championship will also be defended by Kevin Owens. He reclaimed the belt on SmackDown Live, after losing it to Chris Jericho at Payback. AJ Styles is targeting the belt at Backlash, and will look for his second title reign in the WWE. Can he take down Owens to pull this off?

Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin will settle their differences in a standard matchup. This has seen these two brawl on multiple episodes of SmackDown, mostly with the Lone Wolf standing tall. Which former NXT star will walk out with momentum?

These matches can be seen on the main card for Backlash, which begins at 8:00 p.m. ET. However, there is a one-hour Kickoff Show for this PPV starting at 7:00 p.m. ET. Tye Dillinger vs. Aiden English is the only match advertised, along with the Renee Young-led kickoff panel.
