NXT TakeOver: Chicago is over and done. Which WWE NXT superstars should be given more of a featured position in the promotion moving forward?

Last night, NXT held another event in the TakeOver series in Chicago. It was the first major show since WrestleMania, where several superstars moved from NXT to either Raw or SmackDown Live.

Even though such superstars as Shinsuke Nakamura, Tye Dillinger, and The Revival are no longer around, the show must roll on. So far, Bobby Roode, Asuka, and several others have been holding down the fort. But the key to NXT’s successes has always been the progression of those in the spotlight.

While Roode and Asuka have dominated the singles scenes for some time now, their time at the top will inevitably come to an end. Fresh faces are going to be necessary to keep interest in NXT. Whether it’s due to callups, injury, or just plain old staleness, all things must eventually change.

Certain superstars have been given a chance to show what they can do lately. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce have become mainstays in the women’s division, as have Nikki Cross and newcomer Ruby Riot. Meanwhile, Aleister Black has followed up an impressive debut in Orlando with a string of victories. Hideo Itami’s return from injury has also boosted NXT’s star power.
