An Angry Former Champion

During the closing moments of the WWE Championship match at Backlash, Randy Orton appeared to have the match won. An RKO (outta nowhere) left the challenger down and out, but the Singh Brothers were there for the assist. Dragging Mahal out of the ring, their aid paid off in a big way.

As the Viper laid waste to the interfering duo, the number one contender was able to recover. Before Orton knew what hit him, Mahal planted the champion with the Coloss. This move would win him his first world championship, planting Mahal on top of the SmackDown Live mountain. Inside the arena, all fans could do was react with absolute shock.

Tonight, a huge celebration is set to take place. Mahal is absolutely ecstatic about his win, and looks forward to ushering in a new era. He may believe that the Blue Brand is now his domain, however, Orton has other plans for the new champion. At some point during the festivities, the Viper is going to strike. Things will get ugly as a result, with Orton refusing to pause the attack until Mahal flees in terror. The fury on display won’t allow the Singh Brothers to help either, as the former champion will have a fire lit under him.

After the brawl concludes, expect their rematch to be declared for Money in the Bank. If the current trend is any indicator, there may be more shocking moments still to come in this feud.
