The Samoan Destroyer is Ready
As a result of his big win last night, Samoa Joe will be competing for the Universal Championship. At Great Balls of Fire, the Samoan Destroyer is going to receive his first world title match on the main roster. This is a monumental moment in his career, which is impressive when you look at the accolades he already possesses. Still, all of them pale in comparison to what he has the potential to do now.
In order to establish himself as the top dog on Raw, Joe needs to overcome arguably the biggest challenge in the company today; Brock Lesnar. The current Universal Champion hasn’t been seen since the night after WrestleMania 33. On that occasion, Lesnar put the locker room on notice and confirmed he intended to remain champion for a long time. Very few men have been able to stand toe to toe with him, and even fewer can say they’ve actually beaten him.
Knowing all of this, the Samoan Destroyer is going to start pushing the fact that he’s the toughest man on the planet. To beat Lesnar, you absolutely have to possess skill and be unnerved by the aura he presents. Out of all the available talent on the brand, Joe is the most capable of doing so. He also knows that the bout with the Beast is going to be a fight, but Joe is aware that he can fight too. Their battle is likely to go down as a war, and I doubt would have it any other way. This is a true dream match, and it’s fully capable of living up to the hype.
