WWE Rumors: Potential Plans for the United Kingdom Show
The WWE United Kingdom show will reportedly move forward, with details being released on what will happen.
The WWE United Kingdom stars have taken over the WWE Network multiple times, being featured in January’s tournament, a Friday afternoon special in May, and at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. The latter saw Pete Dunne vs. Tyler Bate take place for the UK Championship.
For a while, WWE commentary has mentioned a weekly UK show coming to its streaming service. However, nothing concrete has been announced. Could that be changing soon?
According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the plan is still for a weekly show, which will be taped every six weeks, along with live events taking place, bi-weekly.
For this, Dunne, Bate, Trent Seven, Wolfgang and Mark Andrews have been signed to new deals. It allows them to go to the Performance Center “when needed,” despite the focus being working the UK shows.
This is a step in the right direction for the WWE UK show, which has seemingly been on the backburner for a little while, as the focus went to India and the push inside the country. But, it looks like going after both areas is the plan, something that will help WWE expand its borders.
In the idle time, the UK stars have worked NXT shows, like TakeOver: Chicago. They’ve also appeared at TV tapings and the ongoing Download Festival tour in England.
The champion is Dunne, who won the belt from Bate in Chicago. This ended the latter’s reign of four months, which began at the tournament to open 2017. So, if this stands, the Bruiserweight will be the lead man on the show, with Bate not far behind.
