WWE Battleground 2017: Updated Match Card Before the PPV
With another match added to the card, how do things look for the 2017 WWE Battleground pay-per-view?
On Sunday night, the 2017 WWE Battleground pay-per-view will take place from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. It’s the last big event before SummerSlam, and is exclusive to the SmackDown Live brand.
Over the past month, matches were created for Battleground. It started with the main event of Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. This will take place inside a Punjabi Prison, the first match of this kind since 2007. Could this be the third and final installment of the Mahal vs. Orton rivalry?
The most recent addition to Battleground, Sami Zayn vs. Mike Kanellis will take place as an undercard match. These two battled at on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, with Kanellis getting the win. Will the Underdog from the Underground rebound with a comeback victory?
John Cena will have his first singles match since returning to WWE on July 4. This will see him face Rusev in a Flag Match, reigniting an old rivalry from 2015. Is Cena’s time now at Battleground?
Baron Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura will collide in their first head-to-head matchup. It’s a feud that began at Money in the Bank and carried into July. Who will walk out the winner?
