Should he stay or should he go? Here are five reasons Brock Lesnar should retain the Universal Championship at SummerSlam.

For the last five years since his return, SummerSlam has been a big deal for WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar. Each year, “The Beast” has fought in marquee matches on the line-up for one of the biggest wrestling events on the calendar, against the likes of Triple H, CM Punk, John Cena, The Undertaker and Randy Orton.

Heck, stretch even further and SummerSlam even played host to the man’s first WWE Championship win, against none other than The Rock in 2002.

This year is no different, as Lesnar walks into Brooklyn on Sunday as the reigning, defending WWE Universal Champion against some of the most fearsome competition in WWE today; Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe.

As you’ll know, the champion does not need to be pinned in a fatal four-way match in order to lose the tittle, and given the added caveat that Lesnar will be leaving WWE should he lose the match, the stakes have arguably never been higher for Brock.

With four huge names all involved in this main event clash, there’s a case to be made for everybody to walk out as the face of Monday Night Raw.

Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe have both come out of their shells this year and now stand as some of the most ferocious athletes in all of WWE, and Roman Reigns is still hot off the heels of the biggest win of his career at WrestleMania, so there’s no reason any of these men shouldn’t, at some point, win the WWE Universal Championship – but it just shouldn’t be this Sunday. Instead, each of these men should be walking out the same way they go in, particularly Brock Lesnar.

Why, exactly, should “The Beast” retain the title? Well, let’s take a look.
