NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III: Complete Match Card

Drew McIntyre looks to end the “Glorious” Reign of NXT Champion Bobby Roode at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III.

Just one day before SummerSlam, NXT takes over Brooklyn from the Barclay’s Center in what many consider to be NXT’s WrestleMania. Two years ago, at the first NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn is when, in my opinion, NXT went from WWE’s developmental system to WWE’s third brand. Tonight’s card will have 5 matches, 3 of which will have titles on the line.

In singles action, we have Johnny Gargano taking on Andrade “Cein” Almas. Following the beatdown from Tomasso Ciampa, his former tag-team partner, at NXT TakeOver: Chicago Johnny Wrestling looks to get back in the driver’s seat against Almas. In the other non-title match on the card, we have Aleister Black facing off against Hideo Itami. With another Superstar Shake-Up rumored after SummerSlam, I would not be surprised if this is Black’s final match in NXT.

Now, onto the three title matches. We start in the Tag Team division where The Authors of Pain look to continue their title reign when they defend against Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain of SAnitY. Next, the Undefeated Asuka looks to remain undefeated when she defends her NXT Women’s Championship against Ember Moon in a NXT TakeOver: Orlando rematch.

And finally, the main event. The NXT Championship will be on the line when the champion, Bobby Roode takes on the challenger, Drew McIntyre. Bobby Roode made his in TakeOver debut at last year’s NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II. This will be McIntyre’s first TakeOver event since he returned to the WWE at NXT TakeOver: Orlando.
