WWE Raw: Is Emma’s Social Media Tactic Helping Her Character?

Complaining on Twitter often does not help in most businesses, but could Emma’s tweets actually be helping to build her character on WWE Raw?

We now live in an age where social media is king, and WWE Superstars can either elevate or lower their standing depending on how they use it. We have seen several superstars take advantage of this and have seen some that have somewhat failed.

Kevin Owens plays a perfect heel by belittling fans on his account and blacking out his account in protest to Styles winning the US Championship from him. Curt Hawkins also does a good job in trolling himself and other WWE Superstars, which fits perfectly with his character.

Some superstars like to use Twitter to troll fans, too. Rusev has been teasing his release from the company through Twitter ever since rumors started to swirl about him possibly leaving the company.

Other superstars, such as Baron Corbin, may take it a little too far. Corbin used Twitter to attack fans and respected members of the industry, and it was rumored that those actions could have played into the discontinuation of his push.

So, which category does Emma fall into with her social media activity? Well, let’s start by taking a look at what started her most recent string of tweets.

A lot of fans and even some wrestlers saw this as complaining about her position without trying to do much to change it. Afterwards, Breeze and Fandango discussed how they hated wrestlers that would complain on Twitter about how they are booked or used on the show, and one could only assume that they were hinting at these tweets by Emma.

Nevertheless, Emma continued with her complaining and even began a compaign with the hashtag, #GiveEmmaAChance. This led to more tweets about how she is beeing used poorly and these tweets have even begun to make an impact on WWE programming.

It appears that as the weeks go on, Emma wants more and more respect and “chances”. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease because she has been featured on more episodes of WWE Raw and even picked up a win against Mickie James.

Twitter has been a tool for Emma to create her character. While the general public views her as a whiny complainer who has done nothing to advance her position, Emma is becoming the perfect deluded heel that believes the fans are behind her and that she deserves a push.

The most recent addition to this story is that Emma is claiming that she started the Women’s Revolution due to her match with Paige. Perhaps this will lead to Paige’s return angle back to WWE Raw.

If not, Raw at least has a heel on their roster with experience and great character work that has gotten fans and wrestlers talking about her. Emma’s Twitter antics have been working wonders for her character so far, and it does not look like she will be stopping any time soon.
