Asuka Will Be Part Of The WWE Raw Brand When She Returns

Since her departure from NXT, Asuka has been a hot topic. And one of the main questions fans have been asking is what brand the former NXT Women’s Champion is heading.

As many will know, Asuka is currently out with a collarbone injury, and has recently forfeited her NXT Championship, which seemed fitting.

Both brands could do with Asuka, however, only one can have her. And, according to a report from PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, the thirty-five year old Japanese submission machine will be joining the Raw brand upon her return.

The report states:

"The current plan for former WWE NXT Women’s champion Asuka is for her to debut on the Raw brand, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources. Asuka is currently out with a collarbone injury but is slated to appear on the WWE live events in Japan next week, which are Smackdown-branded events. WWE will be helping to promote her debut with a planned WWE Network Collection of Asuka matches, which will debut on the streaming service in October."

So, after much speculation, we can now officially confirm Asuka on Raw. What does this mean for the Women’s division on the red brand? Well, if haven’t seen any of Asuka yet, you’re in for a big surprise. The NXT alumni has been running rough-shot over the entire NXT Women’s division, as she is currently undefeated in her WWE career. Sadly, Vince McMahon doesn’t have the best track record with former NXT talent, however, he surely has to see the potential in her. If anything, he has to see the money in her undefeated streak.

Next: What’s Next for Asuka?

She should rightfully join the title picture upon her return to action and most definitely claim the Raw  Women’s Championship in quick succession. One thing is for sure, if you’re a Women’s Superstar on the flagship show, get ready. You’ve got stiff competition coming!
