Let’s take a dive into the WWE news and rumours of the day, including Cody Rhodes signing an exclusive deal, Charlotte questioned on Ronda Rousey, and sad news regarding Jeff Hardy.

Firstly, as we all know, the world of pro wrestling news is filled with lies and nonsense – much like the industry itself – so remember, take the WWE rumours with a grain of salt. However, without further ado, let’s take a look…

Cody Rhodes Signs Exclusive Deal

As one of the hottest free agents in the game right now, Cody Rhodes is currently a wanted man around the Indy scene. He’s proven that a former WWE Superstar can make it, moreover, not just make it — but thrive in the Indy setting.

And as such, has enjoyed traveling around the world, competing in different territories (if you will), like ROH, TNA, PWG, the list goes on and on.

However, Rhodes will now be stopping his tour of the Indies, and stick with ROH. Earlier today, the company announced that Rhodes has officially signed an exclusive deal. And, according to ROH, the deal is very lucrative.

"“It is the most generous offer in Ring of Honor history and Cody will be in an ROH ring for the next several years.”"

The former Intercontinental Champion was reportedly a hard man to lock down, according to ROH General Manger Greg Gilleland, but I’m glad he’s finally signed the deal. Personally, I’ve enjoyed watching him tear up the Indies, conversely, it’ll be great to see him on Ring of Honor TV consistently.

Charlotte Talks Ronda Rousey (In A Very Weird Interview)

WWE.com

The talk of Ronda Rousey competing in the WWE has been headline news for some time now, with big news outlets like the New York Post and the New York Times picking up on the mega-stars’ crossover.

Rousey could certainly add something different to WWE’s women’s division, and she’s still most certainly a big enough draw. However, who would she face? The most rumoured match-up featuring the former UFC athlete is Charlotte.

During a recent interview with TMZ, which was awkward to say the least, The Queen seemed up for a match against Ronda; saying, “she knows where to find me.” Later on the interview (if you can call it that), Charlotte then compared the UFC to what she does: “WWE is a much different product and it’s the Sports Entertainment World.”

Currently, the match is not officially scheduled anywhere, however, the recent interaction between the four horsewomen of WWE and the the four horsewomen of UFC, is a great starting point for a feud between the two down the line. So don’t be surprised if you see a WrestleMania match featuring the former Raw Women’s Champion and the former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion.

Jeff Hardy May Require Shoulder Surgery

WWE.com

The former Raw Tag-Team Champions, Matt and Jeff Hardy, have been out of title picture for some time since dropping the belts to Cesaro and Sheamus. Furthermore, it seems as if they may be missing WWE No Mercy.

And according to Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin, their absence may be justified. Per the report, Jeff Hardy is dealing with a ‘significant shoulder injury’, moreover, he may require surgery. The report continues by saying that it’s unclear when the injury took place.

It seems as though Jeff will be evaluated over the next few days to assess whether or not surgery is actually required. Hopefully, the former WWE Champion will not require surgery, and be back before we even realise he’s gone.

The wonderful Joe Soriano put it best: It’s a tough break for the Hardy Boyz and especially for Jeff, who won a Battle Royale a few weeks ago and put on a match against The Miz for the Intercontinental Title.
