WWE TLC 2017: Could Emma Upset Asuka?
Monday Night Raw delivered a big surprise, as Emma won the right to face Askua in her main roster debut match at WWE TLC 2017. But could Emma be the one to cause a big upset?
Think back for a moment to when Asuka made her debut in the company with NXT, who was there to welcome her? The Wonder from Down Under Emma was part of her first feud along with Dana Brooke.
Now these two women are set to collide again with Asuka’s main roster debut at WWE TLC 2017. Emma may not seem like the pick everyone was expecting, however considering Emma was one of the first Asuka locked up with, there is history between the two.
There are likely other reasons Emma was chosen, is she due for a push? Her television time has increased and she was a part of a PPV match. Or is she going to be the first of many victims to the undefeated streak of Asuka? Once we get to TLC we will certainly find out, but a question does remain can Emma upset Asuka?
In all likely hood Emma will put up a decent fight but will not overcome Asuka and the fresh streak of wins will begin for the longest running NXT Women’s Champion. Do we want to see something expected happen? Personally, it would be fantastic to see something different happen and lead to at least a short term feud between the pair. Emma does not need to get a pin fall victory, but getting herself disqualified could be interesting, with this happening Asuka does not sustain a loss and she has something to go after.

Emma deserves an interesting storyline and to do something to make her a staple of the Raw Women’s Division, Asuka is the perfect chance to help make that happen. Not only does this help Emma, it helps introduce Asuka to the main roster and a completely different playing field.
There is a lot riding on Asuka’s debut and how she is handled away from NXT. Working with someone she is familiar with is a great step, and with the right booking it will be beneficial to both women. Asuka has plenty of time to feud with Sasha Banks, Bayley, Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, Alicia Fox and Dana Brooke.

With the spotlight being focused on Emma, it helps bring out her character and define her heel persona while making sure those who aren’t so familiar with Asuka get acquainted with her. For this debut a lot will ride on how things are booked, Asuka is destined to win but if Emma can pull out some tricks and it should be a debut to remember.
