The “Boss” Sasha Banks was one of the biggest driving forces of the initial women’s revolution that took WWE Raw and the entire company by storm in 2016.
Sasha Banks has been part of many revolutionary moments for women’s wrestling on WWE Raw since the women’s revolution began, and she has maintained a reputation as one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world. The Boss was at the forefront of innovation and alongside Charlotte Flair last year, changed how fans viewed women’s wrestling.
The two had a memorable feud that featured several Raw Women’s Championship title changes, the first-ever women’s Hell in a Cell match which main evented Hell in a Cell 2016, a Falls Count Anywhere match, and an Ironwoman Match. So, with the pedigree Banks has so far, she has to be in a perfect position on Raw, right? Not quite.
Over the past few months on Raw, Banks has not been nearly at the same level she was at just a year ago. And while a superstar can’t stay on top forever, Banks has seemingly had very little direction in recent memory. Even while winning the Raw Women’s Championship again not long ago, it didn’t feel like it did when she was changing the game with Charlotte.
The Boss is becoming more and more lost on Monday nights every week, and the WWE needs to shake things up involving her character. A great way to accomplish this feat would be to turn Banks heel. There was a tease of it in months past involving her friendship with Bayley, but the WWE never pulled the trigger.

Now would be the perfect time to make the move and have her cross over to the dark side. Despite her being a babyface, there is enough other layers of her character that would fit perfectly into being a heel. Her occasional braggadocious attitude could lead to a perfect heel turn if done correctly.
And even if Banks isn’t in the Raw Women’s Championship picture at the moment, having her finally turn on Bayley could lead to a great feud between the two. Not only would it change things up and give Banks a needed resurgence, it could do the exact same thing for Bayley.
Bayley has lost so much momentum over the past few months with her character turning off fans to the point where many boo Bayley. Then, her injury on an episode of Raw in late July kept her out of action for about two months. A feud featuring a friend turning on her could add a lot to Bayley’s character that desperately needs a change of pace. It would be a flashback to their days in NXT when both wrestlers were at their best, but they could make changes so that the rivalry feels fresh.
A Banks heel turn could also help pave the way for a future babyface turn for any current heel on the Raw women’s roster as well. The WWE has had a difficult time keeping superstars relevant for extended periods of time, and the company has often let too many superstars get stale to the point where fans lose interest in them.
