WWE: Triple H To Wrestle At SmackDown Live Event In Chile
Thanks to the storyline that pitted Kevin Owens – and now Sami Zayn – against both WWE SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon and his father Vince McMahon, fans have been speculating about a Triple H in-ring return.
Triple H was defeated by Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 33, and we haven’t seen the “Cerebral Assassin” in a WWE ring since then. However, he was recently advertised for a WWE SmackDown Live Event in Lisbon, Portugal, increasing the speculation that he could return to the ring soon. Most of the focus was on potential involvement in Kevin Owens’s storyline. Owens has been antagonizing himself against all of WWE’s authority figures, including Vince McMahon, and Owens was the man Triple H handed the Universal Championship to last year.
It looks like “The Game” will return to a WWE ring sooner than the Live Event in Portugal, because the WWE has announced that he will be competing in Santiago, Chile on Sunday. An official announcement was made on the WWE site on Saturday, and it will be interesting to see if there’s something special planned, given that this is a last-minute change.
WWE TLC has seen its card modified significantly due to an unspecified viral infection, which is why Kurt Angle has been tabbed to replace Roman Reigns in the main event. SmackDown Live’s AJ Styles will wrestle in Bray Wyatt’s place, facing the “Demon” Finn Balor.
Triple H will be wrestling at a SmackDown-branded Live Event in Chile, so it will be interesting to see who his opponent is. No opponent has been named, but what if it ends up being Zayn? That said, he usually wrestles as a heel, so the smart money may be on him facing a babyface.

The unspecified viral infection has only affected Raw superstars, based on the latest reports, so Triple H may not be replacing an ill wrestler. He might, however, be suddenly thrust into the action as a way of replacing Styles, who is one of the company’s biggest draws. Kevin Owens is also unavailable.
Either way, it’s always exciting to hear about Triple H wrestling, and we’ll see if there’s a potential storyline brewing here.
