WWE NXT Talent Lio Rush tweets the wrong thing, at the wrong time

Current WWE NXT star Lio Rush hasn’t made the best first impression.

Today hasn’t been the best for day for now-former WWE Superstar Emma, who, as you can tell from me writing “former”, has been released from WWE. The news came as a massive shock to everyone. A talented wrestler with tons of untapped potential, gone from the company, without warning.

Also without warning, was a tweet sent out by Lio Rush.

"I guess these are the things that happen when you’re not TRULY ready for @WWEAsuka"

The tweet came moments after WWE released their official statement.

The tweet, which was clearly trying to be funny (but failed), wasn’t the best response to take upon hearing the news. He could’ve gone for the standard thank you or good luck type of deal, but no, he decided to lay it on thick – with a cheap attempt at comedy.

Not only is it unprofessional, but it’s also incredibly insulting. Don’t worry, though, WWE Superstars quickly kept him in line.

Following the backlash, which was granted, Rush deleted the tweet and wrote up a statement to apologise.

However, it didn’t take long for a Gentleman to point out, firstly, the half-hearted apology, and secondly, the poor grammar. You get em’, Gallagher!

So, it’s safe to say that Rush isn’t making a great first impression, but in all honestly, what was he expecting? Sure, he was trying to make fun of her leaving and wanted to give Asuka a nod, but it really wasn’t necessary.

It’ll be interesting to see if he faces any backstage punishment, or gets ‘backstage heat’, as the hip kids say. Either way, the Superstars that have seen the tweet couldn’t have been impressed.

Improve your Twitter game and show some professionalism, Rush. It’s not going great at the moment.
