WWE: Triple H Gave His Live Event Pay To Kevin Owens

Triple H is the COO of the WWE and a certified cool dad. The “King of Kings” also looks to take care of the talent on the roster, which is why he gave his pay for a live event to former Universal Champion Kevin Owens.

A viral infection sent the WWE into a tailspin before the TLC pay per view, and SmackDown Live‘s AJ Styles needed to take a sudden flight to Minneapolis to take on fellow former Bullet Club leader Finn Balor. That left a big void on the SmackDown roster, which was on tour in South America. Styles is one of the roster’s biggest draws, so the WWE needed to replace him with an equally big name. Enter the legendary Triple H.

“The Game” appeared at the live event in Santiago, Chile that Sunday, but another star on the SmakcDown roster had to leave the live events in South America before then. That would be Kevin Owens, who was dealing with a family emergency. Owens’s situation has cleared up now, but it didn’t seem like he would be set to receive payment for his work at the shows in South America after leaving early due to a situation completely out of his hands.

According to the Wrestling Observer News’s Dave Meltzer, Triple H gave his payment for the appearance to Owens (hat tip to Sportskeeda’s Gaurav Kadam).

It’s an admirable gesture from Triple H, who deserve praise for both doing this to help Owens and for flying to Santiago on such short notice. The WWE needed to make up for not having two of their biggest stars available for that show in Chile, and Triple H certainly delivered by wrestling with Rusev and showing off some dance moves.
